โWhy are you staring at me like that? Hurry up, Iโm dying of thirst!โ Winter urged.
Resigned, Zach got up. As she gulped down the ice water, Winter finally felt fully awake.
โDid you have something to talk about? Youโve been waiting so long, I actually feel a bit badโฆโ she remarked.
While he was fetching the water, she had already dressed and taken a quick glance at the time. Goodness, it was already 11:00 am!
โFeel bad? Since when do you feel bad about anything, Ms. Jefferson? You seemed pretty shameless to me." Zach was like a balloon that had just been puncturedโbarely holding it together before, but now all his pent-up emotions erupted at once.
โAnd then you had the nerve to order me to get you water? Youโre so high and mighty; why donโt you just float off into the sky?โ he muttered, adding a low curse afterward.
Winter frowned. โWhatโs with you? Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? Whatโs with the temper?โ
โArenโt you going to explain what that guy was doing here this morning?โ Zach demanded.
Winter looked puzzled. โWhatโs there to explain? Do you have to explain to anyone when you sleep with women?โ
Zach choked on his words. โBut Iโm at least your boyfriend right now, arenโt I? Doesnโt this make me look bad?โ
Winterโs gaze grew even more bewildered. โCorrectionโfake boyfriend, thank you. Secondly, I didnโt sleep with another man in front of anyone else; I just had a bit of fun privately. How does that make you look bad?
โWe agreed on the terms before this arrangement. We do our own thing, remember? I havenโt breached any part of our agreement, so why are you acting like this?โ
Zach was speechless. He couldnโt win. It was infuriating!
Winter took a moment to glance around the room. โBy the way, your family hotel is pretty good. Keep this room reserved for me, I might come back.โ
Zach was at a loss for words. She planned on coming back?
โOh, and call the front desk later. Ask them to prepare an extra room key for me.โ
โโฆWhy?โ
โOne for myself, and the other to share, obviously!โ Winter wondered if the drinks from last night had dulled his brain.
Zach sneered, โAm I your servant, or do I owe you from a past life? Not doing it!"
With that, he stormed out.
Watching his angry retreat, Winter was left completely bewildered. After a long pause, she muttered, โCrazy bastard.โ
Zach returned to his room, slamming the door behind himโnot that it made much noise, of course.
He called the front desk first. โNo extra key for Room 1901, got it!โ
Then he called the manager. โGet me ten women, now!โ
The managerโs eyes went wide. โTโTen?โ
Dani, still upset about missing her chance yesterday, eagerly volunteered. โIโll go, Iโll go!โ
The manager moved quickly. In less than 20 minutes, he arrived at the top floor with a group of women, knocking on Zachโs door. โSir, theyโre all here.โ
Zach glanced over at Winterโs room across the hall and loudly asked, โIs it ten?โ
โYes, sir, itโs ten,โ the manager confirmed, also raising his voice unintentionally.
โGood! Bring them in!โ The group of women swayed their way inside, chattering excitedly. It was quite the scene.
The manager took his leave tactfully, but as he walked away, he called the front desk. โRoom 1901 checked out, yes? Since Mr. Zach requested it as a long-term reservation, log it into the list as such from last night. Thereโs no need to charge it now; weโll handle payment later.โ
โWhat did you say?โ Zachโs voice suddenly cut in.
โSโSir?โ The manager stared, dumbfounded, as Zach caught up to him.
โWhat did you just say about Room 1901?โ
โIโitโs reservedโฆ long-term, to be billed laterโฆโ
