Miranda discovered that the CPRT measuring device had a local distributor called SunTech Innovations. She dug deeper and found that the major shareholder was Lorenzo Yancey. So, she researched the companies linked to his name and stumbled upon a familiar name—Calvin Campbell.

“Hey, Miranda. How’s it going?”

“I’m fine. How about you?” she replied.

Calvin replied, “Ugh, don’t even get me started. I fell and broke my leg. I’ve been stuck in the hospital for a week now.”

“Is it serious?” she asked, surprised.

“It’s not that serious, but recovery will take time. Well, you know me, right? I’m active, and lying in bed all day is torture.” He let out a frustrated curse.

Miranda reassured him, “You know the saying, 'It takes a hundred days to heal a broken bone.' So, you should listen to the doctor’s advice and rest. Don’t rush it, or you might end up with complications.”

“Yeah, I got it. So, why’d you call?”

She explained her purpose.

Calvin paused and said, “What’s CPRT? I only know CPR.”

Miranda explained patiently, “It’s a dynamic measurement device used mainly in bioinformatics research.”

“And this company you mentioned… SunTech Innovations.”

He said, “Right. I invest in tech startups, but that’s not my expertise. So, I usually just co-invest and stick to short-term investments. If I remember correctly, I co-invested with Zach. My role is strictly to provide the funding. I don’t get involved in strategic decisions or daily operations, so I’ve never met their owner.”

Calvin added, “But Zach’s portfolio is focused on tech innovation, and he’s heavily invested in this company. He probably has more information than I do. You might want to give him a call.”

“Don’t be so distant. My current identity is not just your ex-boyfriend’s good buddy but your best friend, Winter’s boyfriend. So, it’s only natural I call you what she does, right?”

When he put it that way, it sounded complicated. Miranda didn’t want to waste time. Zach was known for his silver tongue, and she preferred to get straight to the point. “I’ve got something to ask you.”

She explained the situation.

Zach was taken aback and asked, “Are you sure it’s SunTech Innovations?”

“Yes.”

“And you’re looking for the owner?” he asked again.

“Yeah,” Miranda replied.
