Chapter 176: You Are Lying

With that promise, Sean was ready to risk his life. He accelerated, heading straight for Cecilia's car when the road was clear.

Cecilia and her driver sensed danger. The driver swerved, but Sean's taxi was traveling too fast. The impact was immense, causing the taxi to roll over. The driver fainted; Cecilia, though suffering a head injury and bleeding profusely, remained conscious. She struggled to open the car door.

A man in a baseball cap and scruffy beard appeared, his face contorted. "Help… save me…" she pleaded, assuming it was a simple accident.

Without hesitation, Sean locked the car doors, his gaze cold and hard. "I'm not here to save your life. I'm here to end it!"

Cecilia stared in disbelief. "I… I don't know you." She couldn't recall ever seeing him. Why would he want her dead?

Sean leaned against the window, blocking her escape. "Do you want to know why I'm doing this?"

Cecilia nodded weakly.

Sean didn't hesitate. "You shouldn't have picked on Stella."

Stella… Stella Ross…

"What's your relationship with her?" Cecilia pressed.

"I'm the man she likes. I'm her man," Sean replied emphatically.

Cecilia remembered Stella telling Nathaniel about an uninvited guest. Tentatively, she asked, "Are you a fan?" She knew some fans could be dangerous.

Sean denied it vehemently. "What fan? I was with her long before she became famous. I'm her first man, her boyfriend. You have no idea how close we were abroad."

Cecilia was stunned. She knew Stella's life abroad wasn't perfect, but this was news to her. She quickly devised a plan, aiming to unsettle him.

"But I heard her tell Nathaniel you were… one of her obsessive fans."

"What did you say?"

Cecilia, gritting her teeth against the pain, continued, "Don't you know? She's about to marry Nathaniel. She's gone to great lengths for him. Did you visit her recently? She accused you of assaulting her and even complained to Nathaniel, calling you a maniac who invaded her home." She carefully observed his reaction.

When the car flipped, she'd activated the emergency feature on her hearing aid—a precaution Calvin had taken. This would alert Sven to her danger. She hoped for a swift rescue.

Sean, hopelessly in love with Stella, refused to believe Cecilia. "You're lying. She loves me. She just told me she would go to Lushtopia with me."

Cecilia realized Stella had deceived him.

"You really are pitiful," she said. "She has a perfectly good life. Why would she want to go with you? If I die, she can legitimately become Nathaniel's wife. And you'll be facing jail time."
