Chapter 255: Mental Disorder

When someone decides to leave you, no matter how hard you search, they will never appear.

Nathaniel reflected deeply on his experiences. This time, however, felt different. His calmness was terrifying. Mason followed him to Daltonia Villa, watching him enter Cecilia's room. Inside, everything remained untouched, the pile of gifts still there. Nathaniel silently began unwrapping them one by one. He'd poured considerable effort into buying the classic outfits and luxury items Cecilia had desired.

"Mason, have someone organize these neatly. She should find them easily upon her return."

"Understood." Mason quickly summoned a part-timer.

As Nathaniel carefully unwrapped a gift, he asked, "How's the Smith Corporation building progressing?"

"Two months until completion," Mason replied.

"Will it be finished by the time she returns?" Nathaniel asked solemnly.

Mason, startled by Nathaniel's demeanor, nodded quickly. A jeweler arrived. The manager, seeing Nathaniel engrossed in his task, asked, "Mr. Rainsworth, as requested, we've custom-made a hundred wedding rings. Should Mrs. Rainsworth make a selection?"

The unfamiliar title momentarily stunned Nathaniel. "Keep them," he said. "Cecilia will choose when she returns."

"Very well," the manager replied, instructing someone to secure the rings before departing. Mason then learned Nathaniel had proposed to Cecilia with an engagement ring; he recalled buying their wedding rings rather thoughtlessly.

Mason couldn't bear to watch Nathaniel's descent. "Mr. Rainsworth, Ms. Smith doesn't deserve this. She has a child with Calvin!"

Nathaniel's icy gaze fell upon him. "Haven't I taught you not to interfere?"

Mason lowered his head as Nathaniel approached. "If you're idle, unwrap and put those gifts away."

"Understood."

Nathaniel went outside when his phone rang. He subconsciously hoped for Cecilia, but it was a call fromโ€ฆ

"Nathaniel, Zach's inviting us to see his son today."

"I'm busy." Nathaniel hung up. Until he knew Cecilia's whereabouts, he wanted no visitors.

Ironically, Stella was about to face his wrath. Fearing Nathaniel would learn about her actions with Zachary, she barged in, immediately sensing the unusual atmosphere.

"Nathaniel."

Nathaniel, almost forgetting her existence, thought, She pretended to rescue my mother and Zachary, and now she dares to seek me?

Sitting on the couch, he looked up. "What do you need this time?"

Stella, believing him unaware, wept. "I'm sorry. Sean's a scoundrel. Abroad, he forced meโ€ฆ I had a mental breakdown, nearly ending up in a psychiatric hospital. The doctor diagnosed selective amnesia regarding himโ€ฆ"

Nathaniel had his bodyguard toss two blood test reports at Stella. His information wasn't solely from them; he'd investigated the past events while searching for Cecilia. No one expected Stella to claim credit for Cecilia's life-saving actions.

"Even now, you're mentally ill. Your schizophrenia made you an imposter, didn't it?" Nathaniel's lips barely moved.

Stella felt herself weaken, nearly collapsing. "Nathaniel," she pleaded, "let me explain. I did save Mrs. Elena. Cecilia donated the blood. At the time, we bothโ€”"

Nathaniel, impatient, cut her off. "You clearly have a mental disorder." He gestured to the bodyguard. "Take Ms. Ross to a psychiatric hospital."
