Chapter 355: The Ballet Dancer
Cecilia returned to Sparaville primarily to support Martha during her final days in their hometown. She wanted Martha to pass away without regrets. Unexpectedly, however, she found herself again involved with Nathaniel and the Rainsworth family.
Cecilia collected her thoughts, then told Charlottie, "The next song will be released at Christmas." She had finished composing the melody, but a few verses needed refinement.
"Got it," Charlottie replied, typing. "I'll post the news on all major platforms immediately."
"Okay."
Since becoming famous, Cecilia consistently announced new song releases online in advance, except to her close friends. Companies and singers then paid a fee to discuss collaborations. Charlottie typically handled these negotiations. Previously, when her company lacked funds, Cecilia had approached Simon directly. Now, however, with sufficient funds, she reverted to the standard protocol. The decision rested not on money, but on the suitability of the song and performer. Therefore, even with ample funds, securing her songs wasn't guaranteed.
News of Cecilia's Christmas release trended instantly. Domestic and international attention followed. Stella, upon hearing the news, immediately instructed her assistant to pursue the song. Securing it would significantly improve her comeback prospects, though many wealthier and more influential figures also coveted the song.
Meanwhile, in Mourinthia, a ballerina gracefully exited the stage after a performance. She encountered Ralph Evans, a wealthy businessman.
"Dad, have you seen the news? I want Cecile's song," the strikingly beautiful woman said; her features bore a subtle resemblance to Cecilia.
Ralph, adoring his daughter, readily agreed. "Okay. I'll buy whatever my dear Cassandra wants."
Cassandra smiled. "Thanks, Dad."
"The show's over; let's go home. Your mother will worry," Ralph said.
"Okay."
Cassandra linked arms with her father. Someone immediately draped a shawl around her shoulders. Before entering the car, Ralph remarked, "It's time we found you a boyfriend when we get back."
Cassandra shook her head. "I don't need a boyfriend. I want to stay with you and Mom forever."
"You silly girl," Ralph said affectionately.
Despite her words, Cassandra's thoughts of returning to Tudela conjured an image of a rebellious man. If she were to find a boyfriend, he would be the only one worthy.
Back in Tudela, Cecilia reviewed the emails Charlottie had sent regarding inquiries about the new song.
"One is Mr. Evans," Charlottie explained. "He's buying it for his daughter, Cassandra Evans, a renowned ballerina who admires your compositions. She's considering using one of your songs in her solo performances, which are truly outstanding. Mr. Evans is wealthy, so choosing her would be a wise decision." Charlottie sent Cecilia a video of Cassandra's dance. "I've sent you the video. See if you like it."
"Okay."
Cecilia played the video. A woman danced gracefully on stage, poised like a proud swan. Cecilia's eyes widened slightly, and her hands instinctively clenched.
