Chapter 392: Return to the Rainsworth Residence

Cecilia had always accompanied Nathaniel to the Rainsworth residence for major holidays, especially New Year's. This year, however, she refused.

"I'm swamped and don't have time," she said curtly, ending the call.

Elena, on the other end, seethed. "She's becoming increasingly unruly. If Nathaniel hadn't lost his memory, he'd never tolerate this!"

Her secretary cautiously inquired, "Should we retrieve Mr. Nathaniel?"

"Yes," Elena snapped. "If Cecilia doesn't want to come, so be it, but Nathaniel must. He's the eldest heir."

Elena privately found Nathaniel's blindness and memory loss embarrassing, but Niel, a powerful figure within the company, had demanded his presence. His influence, despite years of inactivity, remained considerable.

"But what if Mr. Nathaniel refuses?" the secretary worried.

"Then tie him up and bring him back if necessary. Are you telling me you can't manage a blind man?" Elena retorted.

The secretary fell silent.

Meanwhile, in Sparaville, Cecilia informed Nathaniel of Elena's call.

Elliot, confused, asked, "Mommy, didn't you say Mr. Rainsworth was an orphan?"

Cecilia gently explained, "He was abandoned."

Elliot's eyes widened. "Oh, so his mother wants him home?"

"You could say that," Cecilia replied, glancing at Nathaniel.

Elliot then turned to Nathaniel. "Mr. Rainsworth, why don't you go back to your mother? We'd prefer to have Mommy to ourselves."

Nathaniel calmly responded, "Only a child would seek out their mother."

Elliot immediately pouted, ready to argue. Cecilia intervened, suggesting the boys change clothes before playtime. Then, instructing Nathaniel, she said, "You should get changed too and return home with your mother."

Nathaniel was stunned. "I'm not going back," he stated.

Overhearing from the staircase, Elliot muttered, "Hmph, how shameless!"

Nathaniel ignored him, firmly grasping Cecilia's hand. "Is it because of last night...?"

Cecilia quickly covered his mouth, aware of the caregiver's presence. The caregiver discreetly removed the ravioli to Martha's room.

Cecilia withdrew her hand. "Can you please stop talking nonsense?"

Nathaniel, confused, asked, "I just wanted to ask if you're upset because I swatted Eli's bottom last night."

Cecilia stiffened. "No, it's nothing. It's New Year's Day, your mother wants you home. You can return afterward."

Elena's persistence, and the potential for a confrontation with the children, worried Cecilia.

Nathaniel sighed, "All right."

Later, a convoy of luxury cars arrived outside Martha's house, attracting the neighbors' attention. Nathaniel entered one of the vehicles, greeted with deference. "Mr. Nathaniel."
