Chapter 445 Gone Forever

Cecilia was bewildered. โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€

โ€œStop playing dumb. Why would Nicholas call you Ceci privately?โ€ Cassandraโ€™s eyes blazed with anger.

Cecilia explained that they had known each other since childhood. Cassandra remained unconvinced. โ€œBe honest. Are you trying to steal Nicholas from me? Have you set your sights on him now that youโ€™re no longer interested in Nathaniel?โ€

Cecilia found Cassandra unreasonable. โ€œIโ€™m married to Nathaniel. How could I steal Nicholas?โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t think Iโ€™m clueless! You and Nathaniel have been considering divorce!โ€ Cassandra shuddered, recalling Nicholas calling for Cecilia during their intimacy. โ€œNo one steals a man from me, not even Paulaโ€™s daughter! Just you wait.โ€

Cassandra stormed off. Cecilia didnโ€™t take her words to heart; sheโ€™d long accepted the situation and never considered reuniting with Nicholas.

Returning to her room, Cecilia began packing to leave, uneasy about leaving Martha and Elliot alone in Sparaville. Nathaniel helped her.

โ€œYour brother just got engaged. Want to stay longer?โ€

โ€œNo, Iโ€™ll go home with you.โ€

โ€œAll right.โ€

They packed, and at dawn, they bid farewell to Elena and departed. Snow fell heavily. The driver stopped abruptly. Lowering the window, Cecilia saw Nicholas standing in the snow.

He approached and handed her a bag. Puzzled, Cecilia asked, โ€œWhat is this?โ€

โ€œThe engagement gift,โ€ Nicholas replied gently.

Cecilia accepted it without hesitation. Then Nicholas said to Nathaniel, โ€œThere are some things Iโ€™d like to discuss with you privately.โ€

Nathaniel took Ceciliaโ€™s hand. โ€œWait for me,โ€ he whispered. Cecilia, wanting to avoid giving Nicholas the wrong impression, didnโ€™t pull away. โ€œAll right,โ€ she replied, watching them walk off.

With Cecilia gone, the tension between the brothers became palpable. Nicholas glanced back at Cecilia, then said slowly, โ€œNathaniel, when do you plan to return Cecilia to me?โ€

A cold smirk touched Nathanielโ€™s lips. โ€œReturn? Did Cecilia marry you and have children with you?โ€ The implication was clear: they were married, and there was no going back.

Coldness flashed in Nicholasโ€™s eyes. โ€œHow can you contend with me when youโ€™re blind? I will soon control Orion Corporation.โ€

โ€œLetโ€™s talk once you do,โ€ Nathaniel replied, uninterested. His brother had always been a wolf in sheepโ€™s clothing, outwardly gentle but inwardly ruthless.

After Nathaniel left, Nicholas texted Cecilia: โ€œIf anything upsetting happens, let me know. Iโ€™ll always be there.โ€

Cecilia saw the message but didnโ€™t reply. After Nathaniel got into the car, she put away her phone and asked, โ€œWhat did you two talk about?โ€

โ€œJust some chatter.โ€

Nicholas might have seemed mature, but he was incredibly childish. Cecilia was married to Nathaniel, and the child she carried was undoubtedly his. There was no way he would give her back to Nicholas.
