Chapter 469: Finding the Mastermind

Upon learning the news, Sven immediately called the police to have the assailants arrested. Afterward, he entered the car and told Cecilia, โ€œIt seems they were hired thugs. Iโ€™ll investigate further when we get back.โ€

โ€œAlright,โ€ she replied. Cecilia, too, was determined to uncover the identity of her attacker.

Meanwhile, Cassandra sat in a car near the mall, anxiously awaiting news of Cecilia's assault. Instead, her secretary called. โ€œMs. Evans, Cecilia has a highly skilled bodyguard. He subdued all our men and had them arrested.โ€

โ€œA single bodyguard? Against all our men?โ€ Cassandra exclaimed, incredulous.

โ€œYes, ma'am.โ€

Cassandra squeezed her phone in frustration. โ€œShe got off scot-free! Youโ€™re all useless! What kind of incompetent fools did I hire?โ€

The secretary remained silent.

Cassandra then asked, โ€œWhatโ€™s the status on ruining her studio?โ€

The secretary mumbled, lowering her gaze, โ€œIโ€ฆ I havenโ€™t found her studio yet.โ€

Cassandraโ€™s eyes narrowed. She snatched her phone and flung it at the secretary, yelling, โ€œWhat good are you to me?โ€ The phone struck the secretary's head.

Cassandra started to berate her further, but noticing a passerby looking their way, she quickly composed herself. โ€œQuickly, sit down and tell the driver to start the car,โ€ she said softly. โ€œMy phone slipped; it was an accident. Weโ€™ll have the doctor see to you when we get back.โ€ In public, Cassandra maintained a meticulously kind and gentle demeanor.

โ€œAlright,โ€ the secretary replied meekly, hanging her head in fear.

Cassandra, however, remained unconcerned. Her primary obstacle was Corilia, who was traveling and unavailable, making it exceedingly difficult to manage Cecilia.

Later that evening, Cassandra returned to the Evans residence. Paula had been waiting.

โ€œCassandra, youโ€™re back. Where have you been?โ€

โ€œI went to Sparaville. Do you need something?โ€ Cassandra tossed her bag aside, slumped onto the couch, and crossed her legs, her irritation evident.

Paula understood immediately that Cassandra had gone to see Cecilia. โ€œDid Cecilia give you a hard time?โ€

โ€œMom, I canโ€™t believe Cecilia! Just days ago, she denied knowing Nicholas, yet yesterday, he visited her!โ€ Cassandra sought to gauge Paula's loyalty.

A chill entered Paulaโ€™s eyes. โ€œCassandra, donโ€™t worry. I have a solution.โ€

โ€œReally?โ€

โ€œMmm-hmm.โ€ Paula considered Martha, the housekeeper Cecilia cherished. She believed that harming Martha would devastate Cecilia.

After returning home, Cecilia distributed clothes to her family. Since Jonathan was absent, she recorded a video for him. He was at Sinclair Manor, reportedly possessing a wardrobe spanning one hundred and twenty square meters.

โ€œWow, Mommy, these clothes are amazing! Love you,โ€ Elliot exclaimed, holding up his clothes.

โ€œI love you too.โ€ Ceciliaโ€™s heart swelled with joy.

Nathaniel waited, beginning to think sheโ€™d forgotten him.

โ€œCeciโ€ฆโ€

โ€œThis is yours. See what you think. Even if you donโ€™t like it, youโ€™ll wear it.โ€

Nathaniel thought, Even if it's ugly, I can't say so. He'd learned his lesson.

โ€œWhatever you bought must look good.โ€

Cecilia was pleased.

โ€œCould you help me put it on?โ€ Nathaniel asked quietly.

Cecilia felt self-conscious. โ€œCanโ€™t you do it yourself?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m used to my clothes, but not these new ones.โ€

Martha added, โ€œCeci, why donโ€™t you help Nathaniel?โ€
