When Her "Death" Couldn't Break Him

Chapter 52: Back From the Dead

The CEO of Orion Corporation, the youngest and most promising heir of the Rainsworth familyโ€ฆ Jonathan quickly located Orion Corporation's headquartersโ€”also the Rainsworth Group's main buildingโ€”and quietly noted its location. Soon, another sensational story emerged: Stella and the Orion CEO had gone home together to meet their parents, hinting at her ascension into the wealthy elite.

Jonathan's face darkened. He immediately searched for information on Stella, unearthing a plethora of explosive revelations from the dark web, each more scandalous than the last. He frowned. This scoundrel of a father, he thought, has absolutely no standards! What a disgrace!

Initially, Jonathan considered publicizing these findings, but decided against it, feeling it would let his father off too easily. This woman, he concluded, should remain to ensure his father's regret.

The following day, Vivian returned with a task. As the Kennedy heiress, her father, Roland, had summoned her home to manage a branch company, a move to hone her skills. She couldn't remain often, but a housekeeper was at the villa, and Jonathan was remarkably self-sufficient.

While freshening up, Vivian called Cecilia. โ€œCeci, Jonathan is very obedient. Heโ€™s still asleep.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s good,โ€ Cecilia replied. โ€œIn Erihal, I planned to enroll him in preschool, but Eliโ€™s situation delayed it. I intend to find one now.โ€

Vivian was surprised. โ€œPreschool?โ€

โ€œIf that little rascal goes to preschool,โ€ Cecilia mused, โ€œthe other children might be intimidated. But heโ€™s considerate, so he likely wouldn't bully anyone. Though, with his looks, the boys wouldn't stand a chance!โ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong?โ€ Cecilia asked, noticing Vivian's hesitation.

โ€œNothing, Iโ€™ll handle it. I know a perfect international preschool,โ€ Vivian said, recalling her nephewโ€™s school.

โ€œThank you,โ€ Cecilia said.

โ€œNo need for formalities.โ€

Jonathan, asleep, remained unaware of these plans. Cecilia reluctantly ended the call, preparing for Rainsworth Group. Sheโ€™d seen the morning newsโ€”Nathaniel had already brought Stella home. She needed to conceive a child before their marriage; it would become far more difficult later.

That day, she wore a sophisticated outfit and tasteful makeup. As she settled into her car, Sven messaged: Zachary is waiting at the door.

Again? Cecilia frowned, perplexed by Stella's apparent hold on Zachary. She urged the driver to hurry. They soon passed Zachary's Maybach. Inside, Zachary watched Cecilia's car depart, his gaze darkening. The driver asked, โ€œMr. Zachary, should weโ€ฆ?โ€

โ€œYes, Sir.โ€

Zachary leaned back, his gaze lingering on the departing car, his sharp eyes filled with guilt. Following Cecilia, he realized she was heading toward Orion Corporation. Surprise flickered in his eyes. After watching her enter, he called his assistant.

โ€œCome downstairs.โ€

Three minutes later, his assistant arrived. โ€œCecilia has returned to the company. Find out whatโ€™s happening.โ€

The assistant was shocked. Orion Corporation was vast, and they only handled Zacharyโ€™s affairs. They were unaware of Cecilia's situation. โ€œMr. Sinclair, isn't Cecilia dead? How could she be at the company?โ€ The assistant knew Zacharyโ€™s disdain for Nathanielโ€™s wife.

Zachary showed a picture of Cecilia entering the building. The assistant was stunned. โ€œJust investigate! Keep it quiet,โ€ Zachary commanded.

โ€œYes, sir.โ€

The assistant hurried off. Zachary remained in his car, uncertain whether to follow Cecilia.
