Chapter 534 The Wrong Boy

Nobody understood better than Queenie the anguish of a child in another's care.

Cecilia took Elliot to the restroom, waiting outside the men's room entrance. Several tall men soon entered. Jonathan, checking the time, assumed the middle-aged man had left and emerged, only to confront three tall men. Before he could react, one pressed a drug-soaked cloth to his mouth and nose. Darkness fell, and he fainted. A man removed his black coat, wrapped it around Jonathan, and carried him away.

Inside, Elliot finished and was about to leave when Zachary, searching for Jonathan, grabbed him.

โ€œYou little shit! Youโ€™ve been in here over an hour! I thought youโ€™d fallen in the toilet!โ€ Noticing Elliot's plain overalls, he added, "Why did you change clothes? Whereโ€™d you get this outfit? Itโ€™s so childish."

Elliot replied, โ€œYouโ€™ve mistaken me. Iโ€™m Eli, not Jon.โ€

Zachary was startled. "What?"

โ€œIโ€™m Eli, not Jon,โ€ Elliot said, nearly rolling his eyes. He couldn't believe Zachary couldn't tell them apart. When Zachary didn't release him, Elliot warned, "Let go, or Iโ€™ll scream."

Zachary examined him closely. He looked exactly like Jon, but his personality was quite different. He not only refused to let go but also pinched Elliot's reddened cheek.

"Where's Jon?" he demanded.

Elliot, intensely disliking the touch, his eyes blazing with annoyance, retorted, "How should I know? Call him! Let go of me, or I'll scream!"

Zachary smirked, finding Elliot more interesting than Jonathan. "I'm not letting go. What are you going to do?"

"Mommy!" Elliot shouted.

Hearing the cry from the men's room, Cecilia rushed in. "Eli, what's wrong?"

"This mean man won't let me go," Elliot pleaded, his eyes wide with distress.

Zachary's grip on Elliot's overalls tightened. Seeing Cecilia's familiar face, he felt inexplicably flustered. "Cecilia, let me explain. I was just teasing him."

Cecilia ignored him, taking Elliot and leaving. As they went, Elliot made a face at Zachary.

Zachary was speechless. Cecilia disliked him already, and now this misunderstanding. His priority was finding Jon. Lacking Jonathan's number, he called Vivian, obtaining it and then dialing. The call connected briefly, then became unreachable.

Zachary's suspicion grew. He immediately sought the hotel manager.

"Mr. Sinclair, how can I help?" the manager asked.

"My son is missing. Check the security footage."

The manager, shocked, immediately instructed the security guards to review the footage. The potential repercussions of a Sinclair child's disappearance at the hotel were severe. The manager and his team began reviewing the footage, searching for Jonathan.
