Chapter 542: Stella Bound and Gagged
If Nathaniel heard outsiders suggest he needed medication, he might annihilate them.
Having confirmed Nathaniel's presence, Cecilia texted Mason, who immediately replied, "We are on our way." Puzzled by Cecilia's sudden change, he focused on the task at hand. Soon, he led a group of men to surround the hotel. Only after securing the upstairs watchmen did Cecilia ascend. After learning Nathaniel's room number, the bodyguards forced the door open.
Cecilia entered first, spotting Nathaniel emerging from the bathroom, wrapped in a towel. His brows furrowed. "Who's there?"
Cecilia, believing he'd been with Stella and had just showered, felt a slight clench in her hand. Choosing silence, she left him anxious. Nathaniel approached the door, his gaze elsewhere. "Nicholas?"
Seeing his employer's state, Mason hesitated, unsure whether to speak. Was Mr. Rainsworth dressed like this because of something with Stella?
Seeing Nathaniel unharmed, he instructed the bodyguards to leave, avoiding interference with a potential couple's quarrel. He admitted that if his girlfriend were drugged and intimate with another man, he'd find it hard to accept.
Cecilia closed the door. Her silence and the slamming door led Nathaniel to believe it was Nicholas. "Do you think this will make Cecilia leave me? Even if she were dead, she wouldn't leave my side."
Stunned, Cecilia stopped. As Nathaniel caught a familiar scent, his expression changed, his voice hoarse. "Ceci."
Cecilia was puzzled. "How did you know it was me?"
Hearing her voice, Nathaniel embraced her. "Ceci... Ceci..." he repeated. Hugging her, his suppressed desire rekindled. Cecilia, however, was perturbed. "Let go of me."
Under the influence of medication, Nathaniel couldn't release her, but he dared not act recklessly, holding her tightly to quell his longing. "Stay still, Ceci."
He'd forgotten about Stella, tied up in the bedroom. Hearing voices, Stella's eyes blazed, and she threw herself against the wall with a thud. Cecilia's expression turned cold.
"Why are you hugging me when you have a beauty in your bed?"
Nathaniel remembered Stella. "You misunderstood, Ceci." He led Cecilia to the bedroom. At the doorway, she saw the bound and gagged Stella.
"What's this about?"
"She tried to set me up. At dawn, the media would expose a scandal. I was drugged and had no choice but to tie her up," Nathaniel explained.
Cecilia understood. "Don't worry. Mason has secured the men outside."
Nathaniel had Mason remove and confine Stella. He needed to question her and have her tell Cecilia the truth. Mason took the fully-clothed Stella away, realizing his employer's remarkable strength in enduring until then.
Cecilia wanted to go to the hospital. "Come, let's go."
Nathaniel grabbed her hand, closing the door behind Mason. "I'm not going to the hospital."
