Chapter 595 Prove Yourself

Upon seeing Elliot, Miranda whispered to Velma, "Mom, it's that child. Don't be fooled by his size; he's cunning."

Velma glared at Elliot. "Was it you who caused trouble for Felix?"

Felix, feeling satisfaction, watched with a triumphant gaze. He silently thought, You brat, thinking you can compete with me for the Rainsworth inheritance? You're too inexperienced.

Miranda had previously informed her son that Cecilia lacked influential support, ensuring the Rainsworth future remained in Felix's hands.

Cecilia, holding Elliot's hand, asked, "Wasn't I clear enough the other night, Grandpa? Do I need to repeat myself?"

Niel disliked Cecilia's haughty demeanor. "Cecilia, Felix was incapable of speaking that night. Your account was Eli's perspective. Today, Felix told me he didn't even consider hitting Eli."

"Why did he come to Daltonia Villa? He couldn't claim he was visiting Eli," Niel pressed, knowing Cecilia had already spread fabricated stories.

Miranda and her companions' faces darkened. Niel defended Felix: "Children don't hold grudges overnight. He wanted to play with Eli and friends. Eli tricked him into going to the artificial hill alone, and he got lost."

Cecilia realized they were protecting Felix, understanding Niel's bias: one grandson raised by his side, the other a recent acquaintance. The difference was stark.

"Old Mr. Rainsworth, you see it now, don't you? They've run out of words," Velma declared. "He must apologize to Felix."

Nathaniel asked, "What do you want?"

"Felix nearly froze to death. I want him to kneel outside and apologize."

Outside, it was icy. Forcing Elliot, who suffered from leukemia, to kneel in the snow was tantamount to a death sentence. Cecilia clenched her fists.

Elliot said, "Gramps, you're unfair. Why do you believe him but not me?"

Niel coughed, his partiality evident. "Nonsense. I'm your great-grandpa. Biased? Did you deceive Felix? Prove it."

He expected a four-year-old to misunderstand, but Elliot retorted, "Can he prove he didn't hit me?"

Felix was furious. "My word is proof!"

Miranda tugged at Felix's hand, prompting him to sit and plead pitifully, "Great-grandpa, I'm not lying."

Miranda added, "Grandpa, you raised Felix. He wouldn't lie." This subtly implied only Cecilia's child would lie.

Elliot stepped forward. "Gramps, if I prove he's lying, does he kneel outside too?"

The others were startled. Felix, unafraid, challenged, "Sure!" He wanted to see the unwanted child prove himself.

Elliot revealed his wristwatch phone, playing a recording. The first words were Felix's: "Eli, if you're brave enough, come out and face me one-on-one."
