Chapter 75 The Plagiarized Song

Cecilia remained calm. "You think so highly of yourself," she said. "Have you ever accomplished anything on your own? Would you have survived without the Smiths? Would you be an A-list celebrity without Nathaniel?"

Leaning close, Cecilia whispered, "I know about your schemes overseas after graduation. Do you think Nathaniel and his family will still accept you if they find out?"

Cecilia had prepared extensively. She investigated Stella, uncovering a surprisingly eventful past behind the innocent persona.

Stella's eyes widened. She'd believed her past was secure. "You didn't lose your memory," Cecilia said. "Believe me, I'll tell Nathaniel."

Unfazed, Cecilia challenged, "Oh really? Do you think Nathaniel will believe those videos tomorrow?"

Stella choked back tears. She hadn't anticipated Cecilia's sharp tongue. "Cecilia, what must I do for you to let Nathaniel and me be happy?" Stella pleaded, tears welling. "Apart from Nathaniel, I haven't wronged you. Please, let him go. It will benefit you too."

"Did you spare me back then?" Cecilia asked, turning away and leaving Stella.

Once Cecilia departed, Stella's tears vanished, replaced by fear. The revelation of her past could ruin her. No! Cecilia forced me!

Chapter 75 The Plagiarized Song

"Ceci, did you sell your song to Stella?"

Cecilia was puzzled. "Central Media, Stella's former agency, contacted me to buy my music, but I refused."

Vivian was instantly furious. "Ceci, have you seen the news about Stella's new song? 'Ray of Light in the Dark' plagiarizes your music!"

Cecilia opened her computer. She'd sensed a familiarity the day before, but hadn't investigated. Now, listening again, she recognized a tune she'd composed years ago.

"I remember your song, 'Ray of Light'," Vivian scoffed. "She barely changed the name!" Vivian, fond of the melody, remembered it well.

"I abandoned it after posting it on a niche platform," Cecilia said.

"When she couldn't buy your song, she stole it!" Vivian exclaimed, searching her computer. "Ceci, did you know she bought some songs and stole others?"

Cecilia was furious. "Yes, but I didn't expect her to plagiarize my work." It wasn't a coincidence; Stella had specifically sought out Cecilia's older compositions for reworking.

"It's ridiculous she's famous because of this!" Vivian fumed. "I'll have my lawyer send her a letter!"

"Wait," Cecilia said. "We can't just sue her."
