Chapter 82: Do You Want Me?
He quickly reversed the car. The window rolled down. Nathaniel closed his laptop, his piercing gaze settling on Cecilia. She wore an ivory backless gown that accentuated her fair complexion. Astonishment flickered in his eyes, though he wasn't surprised; the bodyguard had informed him of her and Vivian's arrival at Rainsworth Manor.
"What a coincidence," he said with a half-smile.
Cecilia's eyes shimmered. "Yeah, what a coincidence."
"Get in the car."
He said nothing more. Cecilia didn't refuse. She got in, sitting beside him.
"Did you come specifically to see me?"
This secluded path was known only to his driver.
"I want to see if I can recover my lost memories here," Cecilia lied calmly.
Nathaniel's expression remained inscrutable. He told the driver, "Let's head back to my place first." He referred to his Rainsworth Manor residence.
"Sure."
Cecilia still didn't understand his intentions. Nathaniel looked at her solemnly. "If you want to recover your lost memories, you should start from our matrimonial home." Their new home was Daltonia Villa, but their wedding home was Rainsworth Manor.
His room was unchanged, uniformly monochromatic. He began undressing before Cecilia. First, his suit jacket; then, methodically, the buttons of his cuffs and collar.
Cecilia was taken aback, her posture stiff. She averted her gaze, unprepared for his actions. Nathaniel calmly observed her reddening face. He approached deliberately. "Why don't you dare look at me? Don't you want to recover your memory?"
His gaze burned as it swept over her. Cecilia felt her cheeks flush. Aren't I supposed to be seducing him? Why does it feel like things are changing?
Suppressing her emotions, she slowly lifted her head. His white shirt was completely unbuttoned. Their eyes met. Nathaniel's throat tightened. He firmly grasped her wrist, guiding her hand to his body. "Feel it. Does it feel familiar?"
As Cecilia's hand brushed his firm abdomen, a burning heat radiated from her palm. She feigned calmness.
"I still don't remember."
Her hand trembled slightly as it moved aimlessly. Nathaniel's body tensed, yet he sensed her fear. She's clearly nervous, but pretending to be experienced.
His lips curved. He effortlessly lifted her into his arms, pressing her against the wall, and kissed her.
Meanwhile, the banquet had begun. Elena waited, but Nathaniel was nowhere to be found. The driver said he'd returned to his room. She went to find him. She had already met many remarkable young ladies from wealthy families. Meeting Jonathan earlier that day only intensified her desire for Nathaniel to have a child soon.
Finding his door ajar, she cautiously opened it, revealing Nathaniel and Cecilia kissing. Elena immediately looked away. Though she disliked Cecilia, the prospect of a grandson made her hesitate before leaving.
Cecilia felt lightheaded from the kiss. Nathaniel merely kissed her; he refused to go further. She furrowed her brows, clenched her teeth, and with a surge of courage, reached out. Nathaniel swallowed hard, then stopped, swiftly grasping her hand.
"Do you want to recover your memory, or do you want me?"
