Chapter 101: Do Not Try to Stop Me
Samuel felt completely powerless, as if his punches were hitting nothing but air. He thought he was standing up for Raylee, but now he was just frustrated and angry.
โIโm not your brother-in-law. I will never let my sister marry scum like you!โ Samuel shot back, his voice sharp.
โOh, Iโm scum? Then what does that make you? Some kind of hero? Letโs not forget, youโre the one who pushed Ray-Ray into the pool not that long ago. She almost drowned because of you.โ
Samuel went quiet, a mix of guilt and sadness flashing in his eyes. Jeremiah was right. He had hurt Raylee badly in the past. Who was he to call Jeremiah scum?
Jeremiah didnโt let up, his words cutting deep. โYou pushed her into the pool, nearly got her killed, and I locked her in the water dungeon. At the end of the day, weโre not so different. So donโt act like youโre better than me. Between the two of us, itโs just a question of whoโs worse. Am I right, Mr. Goodridge?โ
โRight? What part of any of this is right?โ Samuelโs face turned red, his rage boiling over. โIโm nothing like you. Ray-Ray is my sister. Yeah, weโve had our fights, but Iโve never once thought about intentionally hurting her! What you did to herโthe lies, the manipulationโthat was all on purpose. Thereโs a huge difference between an accident and doing something deliberately. Itโs like the difference between manslaughter and murder! And you, you killed someone years ago and were sentenced to death for it. Youโre the real scum here. You shouldโve been in hell a long time ago.โ
The mention of Jeremiahโs past was like lighting a fuse. His expression darkened, and his emotions exploded.
โShut up! Donโt you dare say another word!โ
Samuel was caught off guard by his reaction. Jeremiah could handle a fight, but emotional turmoil was his weakness. Sensing his advantage, Samuel said with smug confidence, โCanโt handle your own dirty laundry being aired, can you? You murderer! I heard you killed someone because the woman you loved was violated. So what if you killed the rapist? Didnโt she still take her own life out of humiliation? You couldnโt even protect the woman you loved. Youโre nothing but a coward, a weakling!โ
โI told you to shut up! Say another word and Iโll kill you!โ
Jeremiah grabbed Samuel by the collar, his dark eyes blazing with fury, ready to tear him apart. Samuel met his rage head-on, his tone dripping with disdain. โGo ahead, prove me wrong. Youโre a coward, a weakling, a pushover. You couldnโt even save her. Whatโs the point of you being alive at all! You might as well just drop dead! Oh, thatโs right, if it werenโt for the protection of the Lorimer family, you wouldโve met your end ages ago!โ
Jeremiah clenched his fist, delivering a harsh punch right on Samuelโs nose. The punch was brutal, forcing Samuel to stagger backward. Blood streamed from Samuelโs nostrils, the sharp metallic scent filling the air. He wiped his nose with his hand, only to see it smeared with vivid red.
โDamn it, Iโm going to kill you!โ Samuel roared, charging forward, and the two began to exchange blows.
At that moment, as Casimir drove away from the hospital, he caught sight of the chaotic scene unfolding at the entrance. The two were drenched in blood, their faces, hair, and clothes stained a vivid crimson. The ground was also smeared with blood. They were determined to pummel the other into submission. One more blow could easily turn fatal.
Casimir, stunned by the scene, slammed on the brakes and leaped out of the car. Sprinting toward the brawling pair, he shouted, โStop! Both of you, stop!โ But their rage consumed them, and they paid no heed to his pleas.
Desperate to intervene, Casimir stepped between them, only to take a punch to the forehead. A wave of dizziness nearly knocked him out, but he managed to steady himself. By the time he regained his senses, the fight raged on. He noticed a handgun lying on the ground nearby, likely dropped by Jeremiah in the chaos. Without hesitation, he grabbed the gun and fired a shot into the air. The deafening sound startled the onlookers, sending them scattering for cover. Jeremiah and Samuel froze mid-brawl, their fight coming to an abrupt halt.
Seizing the moment, Casimir rushed over and pulled Samuel behind him.
โDonโt try to stop me. Iโm going to kill him!โ Samuel roared, his fury unrelenting. He was like a bull in a frenzy, determined to take down his opponent.
