Chapter 232: This Is Outrageous
Upon hearing these words, Samuel was utterly shocked. “What? Something like that actually happened? You two actually dared to flirt right under Vivian’s nose? This is absolutely outrageous!”
“Listen to me, that’s not how things are—” Casimir tried to explain, only to be cut off by Waverly. She was crying so hard that she could barely catch her breath.
“Casimir, I saw it with my own eyes. What’s the point of denying it? If you’re fond of Raylee, you’re entirely free to break off our engagement and be with her openly. Why did you have to do something so disgusting in my home, to humiliate me like this?”
Casimir was at a loss for words, unsure of how to explain himself. In fact, he didn’t even feel like explaining anymore because the scene that had just unfolded was entirely driven by his lust. “You’re still looking at her with such affection, Casimir. Do you think I’m invisible?” Samuel exclaimed in anger. “I see what’s going on now; you clearly had ulterior motives. You deliberately said the guest room shower was broken, just so you could use my bathroom. All you wanted was to have some fun with Raylee in my room!”
Casimir’s eyes darkened, his entire being radiating a chilling aura.
“Samuel, do you even realize what you’re saying? Did I say that the shower in the guest room was broken on purpose? Do I have superpowers that allow me to predict Raylee would come to your room?”
“What then is your explanation for what just happened?” Samuel asked, clearly irritated. “I had warned you that if you betray Waverly, I wouldn’t let you off the hook. Did you think my words were nothing more than an empty threat?”
The scene was complete chaos. Observing Samuel, who was seething with anger, and Waverly, who was crying her heart out, Casimir squeezed the bridge of his nose, suffering from a throbbing headache.
In the end, he patiently explained, “The misunderstanding earlier was real. Ray—Ray had fallen, and I went to help her up. I slipped and landed on top of her by accident. Samuel, we’ve known each other for so many years. Do you really see me as such a desperate person? Even if I were really planning to take Raylee away, I wouldn’t be foolish enough to do it right under your noses.”
“Casimir, I trust you, but…” Waverly’s tear-swollen eyes suddenly swept toward Raylee, her tone fierce as she spoke.
“Raylee, of all the times you could have fallen, why did it have to be now? Dare you say you weren’t trying to seduce Casimir? Women understand women best. I saw through you at first glance! Now, looking at me losing my sanity like a madwoman, you must be feeling pleased, aren’t you?”
“Wavy is right,” Samuel chimed in. “I can’t believe that you have the audacity to seduce someone in our home. Despite all my efforts to reconcile, I now realized I was truly blind. You’re nothing more than an ungrateful wretch!”
Facing the accusations from the siblings, Raylee didn’t rush to retort. She cast a cool glance over the chaotic scene that unfolded before her. Subsequently, she calmly settled onto the couch, casting a mocking glance toward Waverly.
“You’re right. Watching you behave like a lunatic does feel quite satisfying. All this while, you’ve always presented yourself as off fireworks in celebration. The more pathetic and miserable you become, the happier I feel!”
“No, no! That wasn’t the real me. I was just so angry earlier that I couldn’t hold back my words,” Waverly urgently clarified to Casimir. “Casimir, I admit that I was somewhat impulsive just now, but I’m a woman too. Seeing my fiancé getting intimate with another woman is something I can’t tolerate! Casimir, I truly love you. Could you please keep your distance from my sister in the future? I’m begging you!”
She went over and grasped Casimir’s arm tightly, her eyes filled with tears as she gazed pleadingly at him.
“What are you begging him for?” Samuel abruptly pulled Waverly back, lecturing her with righteous indignation. “Wavy, you are the esteemed daughter of the Goodridge family. There’s a long line of young, talented men waiting to pursue you!”
