Chapter 314: The Right to Final Interpretation

The family was in utter chaos as they hurried to the office building. Although the Snow Wave Amusement Park project was not yet completed, Alaric had already invested a substantial amount of money to construct a building there, serving as the Goodridge Group headquarters. The headquarters was a magnificent round building, towering to thirty-eight stories high. Like a majestic palace, it stood tall in the city center. The interior design was meticulously crafted, and Alaric had placed artworks acquired from auctions worldwide throughout the offices on each floor. Every breath one took inside seemed to carry the distinct scent of money, showcasing luxury and prestige to the utmost degree. Rather than calling it an office building, it would be more fitting to describe it as a fusion of art, architecture, and wealth. Because the headquarters building was so opulently grand, it had become a landmark, greatly boosting the prestige of Goodridge Group and enhancing its competitive edge.

The headquarters Alaric had painstakingly established hadn't even been in operation for a year, so he couldn't possibly accept being kicked out so suddenly. Upon arriving at the building, Alaric and his family witnessed a group of thugs forcefully evicting Goodridge Group employees. โ€œKick them out! Kick them all out! Thereโ€™s no need to be polite with these scumbags!โ€ They were all robustly built, with tattoos adorning their bodies, and their behavior was exceptionally crude. Some employees were knocked down and ruthlessly stomped on. For a moment, cries of pain and despair filled the entrance. Those who didn't know better would have thought gangsters had come to stir up trouble.

Alaric rushed over and roared in anger, โ€œWhat are you guys doing?โ€ A female manager, tears streaming down her face, managed to pull herself up and protested, โ€œMr. Goodridge, youโ€™re finally here! These people have given us three hours to move out, but thereโ€™s so much stuff in the office, we wonโ€™t possibly have enough time to move everything.โ€ A burly man, his arms emblazoned with bold tattoos, strode over and said, โ€œNo, you now have only two hours left. If you canโ€™t finish moving, then weโ€™ll help you out!โ€

Alaric roared in anger, โ€œI only handed over the Snow Wave Amusement Park project to Mr. Lorimer. I never mentioned giving him the headquarters as well. You all have no right to drive us out!โ€ The muscular man with tattooed arms dismissed his protest disdainfully. โ€œDidnโ€™t you look at the property deed, Mr. Goodridge? The ownership of Goodridge Groupโ€™s headquarters is also tied up in this project. Do you want me to find a lawyer to explain it to you in detail?โ€

Alaric exclaimed in anger, โ€œEven so, you guys had no right to drive us all away, do you? How dare you demand that we leave within three hours? There was no such rude stipulation in the project transfer agreement I signed!โ€ The burly man with tattooed arms pulled out a document. Pointing at the last line on the final page, he exclaimed loudly, โ€œMr. Goodridge, open your eyes wide and read this carefully! The right to final interpretation belongs to Lorimer Group. Mr. Lorimer stated that apart from the paper documents and computers, the entire building and everything in it belongs to Lorimer Group! That includes the poop in the toilet! Donโ€™t even think about taking any of it with you! So hurry up and pack your stuff!โ€

Alaric never would have thought he would be given such a hard time by Victor. He immediately got in touch with Victor, only to be informed that the latter had already sold off the Snow Wave Amusement Park project. As for what the other party would do, it was beyond him. Alaric almost blurted out a string of vulgarities after hearing that. He had humbled himself by presenting Goodridge Groupโ€™s largest project to Victor, as if he had willingly handed over the linchpin of Goodridge Group. To his surprise, Victor sold it off so casually and dismissed him completely. Both parties remained at an impasse, and finally, the time to move out arrived.

The burly man with tattoos commanded his subordinates to throw everything out of the office building, including the staff, the paper documents, and the computers. They were so rough as if they were taking out the trash. In the end, the burly man with tattooed arms erected a large sign at the entrance. It read: No entry for members and dogs of the Goodridge family! At that moment, the area was piled high with clutter. The employees of Goodridge Group gathered together, asking Alaric, โ€œWhat should we do?โ€ Where am I supposed to relocate my workplace on such short notice? What should I do about the important documents that are lost?

Alaric looked at the headquarters building he had poured vast amounts of money and effort into, now ruined in an instant. He was so furious that his face turned pale and his heart faintly ached. โ€œAlaric, whatโ€™s wrong with you? Please, donโ€™t scare meโ€ฆโ€ Harriet asked worriedly. Clutching his chest, Alaric collapsed onto the ground, the pain so intense that he couldnโ€™t even speak. โ€œMr. Goodridge! Mr. Goodridge! Are you all right?โ€ โ€œHurry up and call an ambulance!โ€
