Chapter 383: The Other Woman
Leonardo couldnโt help but laugh. โWhere were your standards in the past? How could you have even considered such a scumbag?โ
โIsnโt it because Iโve never seen anyone better? That was why I used to be so blind,โ Raylee said to Leonardo with a smile. โOnly a man like you can be considered up to my standards now, donโt you agree?โ
With satisfaction, Leonardo nodded. โMs. Somers, you do have a way with words. Iโm liking what I hear.โ
Just as Raylee was about to reach out and grab his arm, Angela, who was standing nearby, extended her hand.
โMs. Somers, itโs a pleasure to meet you. Iโm Angela. Itโs been a while; I hope all has been well with you.โ
Raylee extended her hand for a handshake, her brows furrowed in confusion as she asked, โItโs been a while? Ms. Angela, have we met before?โ
Why donโt I have any recollection at all?
With a smile, Angela explained, โYes, didnโt Leo tell you? Actually, Iโm one of your primary doctors. Itโs just that, due to personal reasons, I was unable to return to the country. So, Iโve been monitoring your condition from a distance all this time, Ms. Somers. I doubt anyone else understands your physical state as well as I do. Moreover, Iโve been staying in Zaewora all this while, researching ways to cure you.โ
โIs that so?โ Summer was taken aback, turning to look at Leonardo. โWhy didnโt you tell me about this before? Iโve been under the impression that Ms. Angela wasโฆโ
โMy mistress?โ The masked man shook his head helplessly. โYouโve let your imagination run wild.โ
Angela chuckled. โMs. Somers, how could you possibly think that I was Leoโs mistress? Wouldnโt that make me the other woman? Haha, this is hilarious. But come to think of it, I knew Leo before you did. So, if anyoneโs the other woman here, wouldnโt it be you?โ
The color drained from Rayleeโs face.
Angela quickly waved her hands, saying, โCome on, I was just joking. Leo knows my personality. I love to fool around and tease people. Ms. Somers, I hope you donโt mind!โ
Leonardo also nodded, saying, โYeah, Angela likes to joke around, so donโt take it to heart.โ
Angela suddenly furrowed her brows at Leonardo, reprimanding, โBut Leo, why didnโt you tell Ms. Somers earlier that I was her primary doctor? Also, you havenโt told her yet, have you? That weโve known each other for many years and are old friends?โ
Angela shook her head in frustration. โAm I the outsider now, or is Ms. Somers the one?โ
This was a loaded question. It was clear to Raylee that a glimmer of anticipation had flashed in Angelaโs eyes. This question was akin to the scenario where the wife and the mother fell into the river at the same time, forcing the husband to decide who to save. No matter who was chosen, someone would end up offended. Angela had deliberately posed such a challenging question. If it wasnโt due to low emotional intelligence, then it was intentional. A highly educated medical student who was no longer young couldnโt possibly have such low emotional intelligence. As a result, this was clearly a deliberate provocation.
Jeremiah shook his head. โRayโRay is certainly not an outsider to me. If you insist on asking who is, then it would have to be you.โ
Angela huffed in dissatisfaction. โThey say a man in love forgets his friends. You truly are a testament to that. Leo, starting from today, weโre through!โ
Jeremiah was not amused.
โAlright, quit messing around. Since weโve run into RayโRay, letโs all go to the hospital together. Give her a full body check-up, assess her current health condition, then administer a small dosage of the newly researched medication and monitor the effects,โ he instructed.
After speaking, he turned to Raylee and said, โAngela is one of us. You can trust her completely. My trip to East Aploth this time has yielded significant progress. I managed to obtain some experimental data from the Epean professor and developed a new drug. Angela has personally returned to the country to assist you in testing the new drug.โ
