Chapter 395 Clearing The Air
โOoofโฆโ A groan escaped from Jeremiahโs lips.
If he hadnโt been wearing a mask, one would have seen his face turn red from enduring the pain.
โRayโRay, are you trying to leave me impotent? Do you even realize that you almost ruined your own sex life? I never imagined you would be using the combat arts I taught you against me one day. RayโRay, is this a case of me digging my own grave?โ
Raylee said with a huff, โServes you right! Youโre a jerk who toys with peopleโs feelings. Itโs karma that you end up impotent!โ
โBefore you get angry, could you please check whose phone it was?โ Jeremiah handed over the phone to her, wincing in pain.
Raylee frowned, taking over the phone for a look.
Well, well, isnโt this mine! Oh my God, what happened?
โJeremiah, were you chatting with Angela on my phone?โ Raylee vehemently shook her head. โNo, thatโs not right, I donโt even have Angelaโs WhatsApp! Who were you chatting with on my phone? Whoโs going to marry you?โ
โCheck the chat history first before you say another word, you silly girl! Iโm about to lose my mind. I feel so wronged!โ Jeremiah retorted indignantly.
Upon unlocking her phone, Raylee scrutinized the chat history. Only then did she realize that Jeremiah had been impersonating her, engaging in a conversation with Casimir.
Realizing her mistake, Raylee began to feel awkward.
This misunderstanding has gotten way out of handโฆ
After going through the chat log, Raylee quickly helped Jeremiah to the couch, apologizing guiltily.
โIโm sorry, darling. I didnโt hurt you, did I? Iโm sorry, okay? Donโt be mad. I didnโt go all out just now; I wouldnโt do anything to harm your ability to have children, let alone end your sex life. This I promise!โ
โThere, there, you clueless fool. Youโve now cried yourself into a puddle of tears. I forgive you.โ Regaining his composure, Jeremiah couldnโt help but shake his head in resignation.
โNext time, could you perhaps get your facts straight before pointing fingers? Your temper is really getting worse each day. Youโve even started hitting me! How could you use your combat arts on your own master?โ
Pouting, Raylee was filled with guilt. โWhy didnโt you explain earlier? I thought you and Angelaโฆโ
โWhy are you suddenly suspicious of me and Angela?โ Jeremiah scoffed. โDidnโt I make myself clear? I have no such feelings for her. If it wasnโt for your treatment, I would prefer her to be as far away from me as possible.โ
โYou were so emotional earlier. It shows that you still care for her.โ
โThereโs really no need to worry. Her presence canโt shake the bond between us, RayโRay. My love for you is true.โ
โBut you two had a historyโฆ there was something between you.โ Raylee bit her lip, her voice trailing off.
โWho told you this? Was it Angela?โ Jeremiahโs tone held a hint of irritation. โThat woman continues to blatantly ignore my warnings, always finding a way to talk circles around me. Does she really think I canโt do without her? This just pisses me off!โ
โIt was she who called you, inadvertently letting it slip. I didnโt tell you that besides answering Halstonโs call, I also answered hers.โ
Feeling the need to be candid, Raylee voiced out the dissatisfaction that was brewing within her.
โIf it were just unrequited love, that would be one thing. But sheโs your exโgirlfriend, you know. With you being in contact with your exโgirlfriend so frequently, how could I not overthink it? As the saying goes, time breeds affection. Given that you two share a common goal and had a past together, itโs hard to believe that old feelings wouldnโt be rekindled. Letโs look at it from another perspective. What if I were in close contact with Casimir, and we were fighting side by side for a common goal? What would you think then?โ

Listening to the choked sobs of Raylee, Jeremiah was filled with heartache.
He expressed his helplessness. โBut our shared goal is to cure you! We did share a past together, thatโs true. You could even say she was my first love. But our relationship was different from the typical romance. Do you want to hear some gossip? If youโre interested, Iโll tell you. I promise that everything Iโm going to say is true. You can seek out Angela anytime to verify it.โ
โFine, letโs hear it then?โ Raylee folded her arms and listened attentively.
Jeremiah began recounting the past, โThat year, I was sent to District Nine Prison for murder. After my release, I was covered in wounds. My father didnโt care for me and even exiled me to the dangerous East Aploth. He didnโt give me any money, nor did he arrange for anyone to look after me. He simply left me to fend for myself.
