Chapter 95: Call Him

Outside the Ivory Council, the Rolls-Royce slowly stopped. Elvis gazed at the pharmacy through the bright glass window. He knew she would be there. He had an ointment he'd bought for her and needed to give it to her, but he wouldn't go inside. He just wanted to remain near her.

He leaned back in the seat. This was a safe distance. As long as she didn't approach him, he wouldn't hurt her. He had grown fond of Olive; she was his only antidote.

He pulled out his phone and scrolled through Olive's social media. The last time they'd chatted, she'd accidentally sent him a picture of herself in a swimsuit. He'd saved it, of course. Little by little, the memories of the previous night resurfaced. He clearly recalled how she'd looked at himโ€”her face reddened, her foot raised to kick him.

Elvis raised his right hand and covered his eyes. His phone, in his pocket, rang. He fumbled for it; it was Andrew, his private secretary.

Elvis answered. Andrew's respectful voice filled the receiver. "CEO, according to the schedule, we need to fly to Asia for a business trip today. The private jet is ready. Do you wish to proceed?"

"Yes. I'll be there in a moment."

In the blink of an eye, three days passed. For those three days, Olive studied at the Ivory Council, spending her free time reading medical books in the library.

At noon, Olive finally found the medicine she'd been searching for: the mandala flower.

"Divine, I found it! The mandala flowerโ€”have you heard of it?" Olive handed Divine the book the moment she saw her.

"Olive, what do you want with this? The mandala flower is highly poisonous!" Divine questioned.

"Divine, I need it. Don't worry, I've been immune to poison since childhood. I just need it for an experiment."

Divine stared at Olive in shock. "Olive, are you crazy? Who are you trying to treat? This flower is extremely poisonous! How can you test a poison like this? Do you want to die?"

Olive pulled Divine close. "Divine, I'm barely twenty. I don't want to die, so don't worry. Quickly, help me figure out how to get the mandala."

Divine shook her head. "There's no mandala flower in the Ivory Council. It's a rare species. It's impossible to obtain."

Olive looked disappointed.

"Give me some time. I'll find it for you," Divine added, sensing Olive's dejection.

Olive's eyes lit up. "Divine, seriously? Can you handle it?"

"Isn't it a mandala flower you seek? Just wait."

Olive stared at Divine again. She'd always sensed a certain power in Divine.

Olive returned the medical book and took out her phone. Three days had passed, and Elvis hadn't contacted her.

Olive lowered her head, feeling a little sad and angry. The ointment the strange man had given her had worked wonders. She applied it morning and evening, and by the third dayโ€”todayโ€”all the scars on her body had faded, her skin regaining its beauty. She recognized the ointment's ingredients as precious medicinal herbs.

For the past three days, she hadn't returned to the Red Villa; she'd been waiting for her scars to heal. She worried about Elvis, wondering if he'd been able to sleep.

A message popped upโ€”from North. She clicked it: "Olive, are you coming over tonight? I miss you."

"No, I'm not coming tonight," Olive replied.

"Staying with Mr. Augustine?" North responded with a laughing emoji.

Olive knew better than to go to North's apartment. She was certain that once she obtained the mandala flower, she could treat Elvis, and she wouldn't need to hide.

"North, I hope nothing happened between you and Raven that night at the bar?" Olive asked.

"Nay, nothing happened. I'm fine," came North's message.

After classes, Olive took a taxi to the Red Villa. Stuck in traffic, she saw the Augustine Corporation building. It was majestic and captivating.

The driver noticed her gaze. He laughed, "That's the Augustine Corporation. The most valuable building in LA. Elvis Augustine came to LA six or seven years ago. He's a true business genius."

Olive stared at the business empire, feeling a sense of awe.

"Sir, I'll be getting off here."

"Girl, you haven't reached your destination yet."

Olive paid the fare and laughed, "I suddenly admire this corporation, so I'll go in and take a look."

The driver stared, shocked. How could a girl her age be so enthusiastic?

Olive entered the building and was greeted by the receptionist. "Welcome, Miss. How may I help you?"

"Hello, I'm looking for your CEO, Elvis Augustine."

The receptionist's eyes swept over Olive. She was used to seeing beautiful women seeking her boss. She smiled politely. "Miss, do you have an appointment?"

"No," Olive shook her head.

"I'm sorry, you can't see the CEO without an appointment."

"Then I'll sit here and wait for him."

"Sure, but I should remind you that the CEO flew to Asia on a business trip three days ago. His return time is unknown."

"He flew to Asia?" Olive finally understood why he hadn't contacted her.

Olive sat in the lobby, then took out her phone and dialed Elvis's number.
