Chapter 112: Where’s My Birthday Present?

The ladies all adored Raven. They all vied for his attention, but Gwen, with a glamorous dance, thrust herself into the limelight. Self-confident, she believed Raven would choose her, giving her the key.

Amidst the cheers, Raven stared indifferently at Gwen and muttered, "I don't think any of them are good at dancing."

Gwen felt her body go numb. Her hope and confidence shattered. The atmosphere became awkward. No one expected such ruthlessness from Raven.

"We all know the best dancer is North," one of the bosses said, attempting to alleviate the tension.

Everyone turned to look at North. "Beautiful North," a wealthy businessman requested, "since young Master Raven said the others aren't good at dancing, why don't you perform a classic dance?"

North glanced at Raven, tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and said, "I'm sorry, I'm feeling a bit unwell today, so I won't be able to dance. I'll be in the restroom." She stood and left.

In the corridor, North breathed a sigh of relief. The atmosphere in the room had been oppressive; she couldn't bear another moment there.

A tall, handsome young man approached. "North, is that you? Remember me? I'm your high school classmate."

North, after a moment's recognition, smiled politely. "Hello."

"North! Years! You're even more beautiful. I barely recognized you. Hope you're single, because I'm ready to pursue you." His gaze lingered on her.

His enthusiasm embarrassed North. She started to speak, but a low, mellow voice interrupted, "She already has a man."

The young man turned to see Raven approaching. He stopped beside North. The young man's expression changed drastically; he remembered Raven, North's brother, who tolerated no suitors for his sister. Whether at reunions or parties, Raven's presence—strong, cold, and undeniably masculine—deterred all others.

Fearful, the young man smirked and muttered, "Young Master Raven, hello. North, I have something to attend to." He excused himself.

North looked at Raven's handsome face. Raven, his lips pursed, focused on her serious expression.

"It doesn't matter if it's untrue, okay?" he said.

North shook her head. "I've forgotten about it already."

Raven's lips curled into a sardonic smile. North trembled slightly and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Raven swallowed. "Where's my birthday present?"

"Sorry, I've been busy and forgot to get you one."

Raven's lips curved into a smile. "Unhappy? I saw a mountain of gifts for you. Do you still need mine? Tell me what you like, and I'll have my assistant get it." His eyes were dark and languid.

"You don't know what I like? If you want to know, come to my room tonight."

North stared furiously. "Raven, are you short of women? Why are you bothering me?"

"Let's forget the past. I want a good life. I'm young, my life's just begun. I don't want to ruin it. You can choose any woman. When I find a good man, we'll get married and have children, live peacefully, okay?"

Raven scoffed. "I'll never let any man have you, let alone marry you and have children with you."

"There's nothing to talk about. I'm leaving." North turned towards the restroom. As she reached the men's restroom door, a hand grabbed her arm and pulled her inside.

She slammed into a warm chest. Looking up, she met Raven's magnificent gaze. "Why the men's room? You wouldn't be so perverted as to make me watch you… you know," she pressed against his chest, trying to push him away.

Raven moved his hand to her waist. His lips formed an unhappy curve. "That's what you learned in the entertainment industry?"

"What word would your elegant Pamela use, if not that?" North challenged, aiming to annoy him.

Raven pulled her into his arms, brushing her curly hair from her face. He tightened his grip. "Why always mention Pamela? Of course, Pamela isn't like you. She always knows how to seduce men…"

North kicked his leg. "Then go find Pamela. She's pure and classy. Don't use me to vent your frustrations!"
