Chapter 114: What Are You Playing At?
Gwen’s joy turned to suspicion. “North, are you lying? Why didn’t Raven give me this himself?” She gasped, muttering, “North… Raven gave you his room key? What are you two planning? North, this is shameful! Sleeping with your brother!”
North tossed a wet tissue in the trash, brushed her curly hair back, and said, “Yeah, I’m shameless. That’s how your crush likes his women. Now that you know, use your ‘seductive skills’ to serve him tonight. He likes… assertive women.”
She thrust the room key into Gwen’s hand, ignoring her shocked expression. How could North be so presumptuous?
Gwen trembled with anger. North furrowed her brows and softened her tone. “What? Don’t want the key? Fine. Plenty of women would.” She started to retrieve it. Gwen clutched the key, her fear palpable. She was terrified North would give it to someone else.
Gwen considered North her sworn enemy. Adopted into the Blue family as a child, both had entered the entertainment industry. Though Gwen was famous, North was far more beloved. Gwen had once tried to have North murdered, but North's constant security detail thwarted the attempt. Gwen later learned of North's dedication – studying scripts until midnight – explaining her flawless performances and the directors' praise. North's charm only fueled Gwen's envy.
North lived lavishly, enjoying her wealth and youth to the fullest. Gwen always felt powerless against her, and that feeling intensified. North glanced at Gwen’s furious expression, shrugged, and left the bathroom, her crystal heels clicking on the floor.
Gwen opened Raven’s door with the key card. The opulent room, complete with an oversized bed and various red wines, was breathtaking. Raven was showering; the sound of running water filled the space. Gwen's heart pounded. Her anxiety flushed her cheeks as she touched the soft bed. Then, she heard a movement. Raven was finishing his shower.
Her heart raced. She quickly switched off the light and hid beneath the bedsheets.
Raven had given North the key because he adored her, morbidly protective of her. But ultimately, he desired her possessively.
Gwen wondered how Raven would react upon discovering she wasn't North. She recalled North’s words about Raven's preference for assertive women, contrasting with his strict, abstinent upbringing within the Blue family. She had never dared to imagine Raven in bed, yet his possessiveness toward North suggested a different side to him.
A sudden confidence surged. Hiding under the duvet, she pulled down her short skirt, revealing her curves.
The bathroom door clicked open. Raven emerged, his dark blue silk pajamas clinging to his wet, short hair after a cold shower. The room was dark. His cold black eyes instantly fixed on the figure beneath the duvet.
Discarding his towel, he strode over, a thin smile playing on his lips. "Come out. Don't play games." He reached for her wrist.
Gwen’s heart hammered. She flinched, trying to evade his grasp. But Raven was swift, pulling her into his arms, his lips brushing her hair. His low, intense voice rumbled, “I caught you. Shall I be gentle?”
The roughness in his tone weakened her knees. She had never imagined such intensity from him. Raven's crimson eyes narrowed, then widened in realization. "Who are you?" he demanded, instantly recognizing the imposter. A sinister look darkened his handsome features as he flung his hand, smashing a wall lamp against the wall.
