Chapter 206 Olive, why are you laughing?

Monica’s aggression was overwhelming. Before Pearl could react, she was dragged into the hallway, instantly surrounded by a crowd. Everyone pointed and whispered, their gazes lustful upon the nearly naked Pearl.

“Let me go! Patrick, help me!” Pearl cried, desperate for help from the only person she could trust.

Patrick, hastily pulling on his pants, rushed out to intervene. He forcefully pulled Monica away, shouting, “Monica, are you insane? Let her go, you shrew!” He embraced Pearl's head.

Monica sneered, pointing at Patrick, “Me insane? She’s your daughter’s friend! Did she consider this before sleeping with you? Are you really worthy of me?” She then pulled Pearl’s hair and slapped her, screaming, “Little slut! I’ll beat you to death!”

Patrick’s face darkened. The public spectacle, with everyone watching and taking pictures, was deeply embarrassing. “Enough! Monica, get out of here now!” He pushed her away, sending her crashing against the wall with a bang.

Monica slumped to the tiled floor, clutching her stomach as blood flowed. “It hurts,” she mumbled.

Patrick, concerned for Pearl, said, “Pearl, get up. Don’t worry about this bitch. Come, I’ll take you away.” He draped his coat over her shoulders, shielding her from the onlookers, and led her away.

“Look! She’s bleeding!” someone shouted.

Turning back, Patrick saw Monica’s pale face and blood-soaked body. He didn't want to be responsible for her harm. “Monica, what are you doing? I only pushed you,” he asked.

Terrified, Monica realized she was miscarrying. She clung to Patrick’s hand, crying, “Quick, please send me to the hospital. I’m pregnant. I’m pregnant with your son.”

Patrick’s expression softened. He deeply valued his children and always wanted a son. He lifted Monica and yelled, “Call an ambulance! Someone call an ambulance!”

Patrick disappeared with Monica, the gossiping crowd dispersing.

Although relieved, Pearl remained uneasy. She knew Monica and her daughters were formidable. Returning to retrieve her belongings, she encountered Olive, a slender, beautiful figure leaning against the wall with a knowing smile. Pearl felt instantly ashamed. Olive had been there the whole time.

Pearl disliked Monica and her daughters, but also despised Olive, her feelings a complex mix of envy, jealousy, and hatred.

“Olive, why are you here?” Pearl asked suspiciously. “Did you tell Monica? Did you plan this?”

Olive’s bright eyes remained inscrutable.

“You! You have the guts!” Pearl muttered, clenching her fist.

“Are you implying I made you sleep with my father?” Olive interrupted coldly.

Pearl, speechless, finally burst out, “Do you think I enjoyed sleeping with a man as old as my father? You forced me! I had no choice!”

Olive looked at Pearl’s swollen face. “Since you had no choice but to sleep with someone’s husband, Monica had no choice but to do this to you. Even if you were beaten to death, you deserve no sympathy.”

Pearl’s face paled. Olive continued, “Your father couldn’t provide you with luxuries, why not blame him? There are countless ways to make money, but you chose to sell your body to compete with Gabriella. Pearl, this was your choice, not a last resort.”

Pearl recoiled, her fist tightening. She hated Olive’s piercing insight.

“Olive, you’re here to teach me a lesson, right? Do it,” Pearl challenged.

Olive smirked. “What do you think my purpose is?”

Pearl, suddenly confident, declared, “Monica and the others hid Old Mr. Hart, didn’t they? You want to know where he is.”

Olive simply smiled.

“Olive, what’s so funny?” Pearl asked irritably.

“I’m smiling because you just voiced my thoughts,” Olive replied calmly.

“You need something from me. Beg me. If I feel like it, I’ll tell you where Old Mr. Hart is,” Pearl demanded.

Olive waved her phone and laughed. “Guess what’s here?”

“What?” Pearl asked nervously.

“A video of a husband-snatcher being caught. I filmed it. Imagine sending this to your parents, teachers, classmates…wouldn’t that be wonderful?” A sneer touched Olive’s lips. “Just because you’re clothed now, doesn’t mean you should forget you were naked and humiliated.”
