Chapter 236: On a Honeymoon
Alpha Augustine paused, his gaze fixed on Olive, who waited stubbornly for his reply. The entire office fell silent. After a long moment, Alpha nodded.
โYes, I love him.โ
Olive lowered her head. Her soft voice barely registered. โDonโt forget the promises you made to me today. Iโm sacrificing my life for Elvisโs well-being. He has a great future. I hope youโll love him better than I ever could.โ
Alpha remained silent, his gaze transfixed on Olive. She returned the photographs to their envelope, tucked it under her arm, and rose to leave.
โIโm taking him away now.โ
โOkay,โ Alpha replied, a slight nod accompanying his words.
โDonโt follow us. When the time comes, Iโll contact you to pick him up.โ
โOkay. How many days will you need?โ
โSeven days.โ
โNo problem.โ
Olive said nothing more as she turned to leave. Alpha watched her slender back, then said, โMiss Hart, you and Elvis are divorced. What happened between you is in the past. I trust your abilities in ancient practices; I need you to erase all memory of yourself from his mind. Iโll have someone eliminate all traces of you in Los Angeles. If you survive, stay away from Elvis.โ
Olive halted, her body going numb at his words. Alpha swallowed hard and continued, โElvis can marry anyone in the future, but not you. He loves you too much. When you left, he swallowed an entire bottle of sleeping pills. He attempted suicide because of you. You could easily ruin him, so Iโll never allow you near him. Besides, I know about you and Marvin. Marvin is my son, too. Youโre a prize both my sons are vying for. Sooner or later, theyโll turn on each other over you. The Augustine family has endured turmoil before. I wonโt let history repeat itself.โ His voice remained calm, devoid of emotion.
Olive didnโt turn. She considered Alpha a pragmatist; he held only the photographs as leverage, leaving her feeling defeated. Yet, she couldn't deny a grudging admiration for his approach.
โDonโt worry, when heโs healed, Iโll make him forget about me,โ Olive assured him.

Alpha didn't inquire about her method. Instead, he said, โIโve already chosen a fiancรฉe for him.โ
Oliveโs fingers clenched into a fist, then relaxed. โDonโt you want to know who Elvisโs fiancรฉe is?โ
โNo need.โ With that, Olive reached the door and exited.
Elvis dreamt Olive was gone. He chased her relentlessly, but couldn't catch her. He searched everywhere, despair growing. Then, Olive's slender form appeared. Her small hands embraced his neck as she gazed at his face.
โMr. Augustine, donโt be an idiot. Iโm not leaving. Why would I leave?โ
Elvis pulled her into his arms, his handsome face burying in her long hair. Olive bit his neck. He felt pain, his bones numb from her bite. He murmured, โOlive.โ
Elvisโs eyes snapped open. He was awake. Where was he? He sat up, looking around. It seemed a remote village, far from the cityโs bustle. It was green and beautiful. Was he dreaming?
He got out of bed. Beside it lay a pair of dark blue slippers, which surprisingly fit. He opened the door and stepped outside. A large garden stretched before him, filled with vegetables and fruits. It was idyllic, like the heaven described in church.
He took two steps, then stopped. He saw Olive in the orchard. Her hair was loose, falling to her waist as she squatted. She wore a light yellow cardigan and white bloomers. A vegetable basket sat beside her; she carefully placed cherry tomatoes into it. Once finished, she lifted the basket. Their eyes met.
Elvis stared, dazed. Hadnโt she flown to Imperial City? Was this another dream?
Olive approached, basket in hand. Looking up at him, she smiled. โYouโre awake!โ

โAm I dreaming?โ Elvis asked incredulously.
Olive found his question amusing. She pinched his arm. โHey, wake up! Stop daydreaming!โ
He felt the pinch; he wasnโt dreaming. He was truly awake. Once convinced, Olive withdrew her hand. But Elvis instantly grabbed her wrist.
โWhere are we?โ he asked, his voice deep.
โThe suburbs. Where I grew up.โ
Elvisโs eyes narrowed. โHow did we get here? Didnโt you leave for Imperial?โ
Olive took two steps closer, needing to look up at the taller Elvis. โIโll go to Imperial, but before I leave, I remembered you still owe me somethingโand you must fulfill it.โ
โWhatโs that?โ Elvis asked impatiently.
Olive smiled sweetly. โA honeymoon. You didnโt take me on one after we married. Mr. Augustine, letโs have a five-day honeymoon.โ
Elvis had been in a coma for two days; five days remained of the seven sheโd negotiated with Alpha. She wanted a honeymoon.
