Chapter 287: Olive is Marvinโ€™s Fiancรฉe!

โ€œOlive! I thought you were dead! You gave your life to save Elvis. Iโ€™ve been searching for you like crazy for three months. I heard from my father, but you vanished. I couldnโ€™t find you.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ve been hoping to find you. I would do anything to save you, just like you saved Elvis. Olive, Iโ€™ve never hated anyone as much as I hate Elvisโ€”you made me hate him so much!โ€

Marvin hugged her tightly, his dark eyes red-rimmed. He pressed his handsome cheek against her hair, whispering hoarsely. Olive felt the strength of his trembling embrace. He was terrified of losing her again. A warmth filled Oliveโ€™s heart. She was overjoyed to see her old friend. In her heart, Marvin had always been the proud Son of Heaven, but his three-month search for her spoke volumes.

โ€œMarvin, Iโ€™m fine now,โ€ Olive said softly, gently patting his back.

A Rolls-Royce Phantom pulled up. Elvis had arrived. Unable to sleep, heโ€™d driven to the bar, searching for her. He saw the embrace unfolding before him through the fogged windshield. He had no idea how they were connected. His younger brother was arrogant, unlike their mother, Lily Midas. Marvin, however, was renowned for his high standards and impeccable reputation among Imperial's elite women. Heโ€™d never shown romantic interest in anyone.

Yet here he was, holding Olive close. Elvis's gaze lingered on Olive as she patted Marvinโ€™s back, a childlike gesture. What was their relationship? He slowly curled his lips into a mocking smile. Heโ€™d arrived at the wrong time; she already had someone. Sheโ€™d certainly put on a show! Besides Noah and Jimmy, now Marvinโ€ฆ were there more? What was he? A fierce scarlet flush burned in Elvisโ€™s eyes, his body radiating hostility. He didnโ€™t understand why sheโ€™d stirred his peaceful life. Her appearance had turned his world upside down. He felt a chilling wave of clarity. His midnight drive had been a foolish joke. He wouldnโ€™t humiliate himself again.

Elvis slammed the accelerator, the Phantom speeding away.

After Elvis left, Marvin released Olive, examining her with concern. โ€œOlive, is the poison gone?โ€ Heโ€™d been focused on Los Angeles, neglecting Imperial until he heard the Hart family had found their youngest daughterโ€”the Watson School beauty queen and basketball star. Heโ€™d finally found her. He couldnโ€™t believe she'd survived the deadly datura poison.

โ€œThe poison is gone. Itโ€™s a long story. I thought I would die, but my mother left me a medicinal pill.โ€

โ€œYour mother?โ€ Marvin asked, surprised. โ€œIs she a doctor?โ€

โ€œYes, sheโ€™s incredibly skilled, but she left when I was nine. I don't know much about her or the pill.โ€

Marvin, a doctor himself, was intrigued. A single pill that could save a life? โ€œOlive, I know many leading doctors worldwide. Whatโ€™s your motherโ€™s name? I can help you find her.โ€

Oliveโ€™s eyes lit up. Since learning from Mr. Hart that her mother might still be alive, sheโ€™d been desperate to find her. โ€œHer name is Joyce Brown.โ€

The name registered. Joyce Brown? Marvin knew it well; his mother, Lily Midas, had often spoken of her. His mother desired Joyce Brownโ€™s daughter as her daughter-in-law. Twenty years ago, Joyce Brown had broken off an engagement, intending to marry her daughter into the Augustine family.

Olive was his fiancรฉe! Marvin understood. His grandmother had taken the engagement gift, using it to marry Olive to Elvis! His grandmother had stolen his fiancรฉe and given her to her beloved grandson. Everything was wrong, from the start. The heartache was immense. He'd always known his grandmother favored Elvis, but to take his fiancรฉe? He'd never interfered in the affairs of the previous generation, but thisโ€ฆ this was unforgivable.
