Chapter 394

Close the door and let the dogs go! A knock sounded: “Knock knock.” Jean said, “Come in.” Charlotte entered. “Bro, everyone’s at Hart’s house. Our people are there; they’ll post a live video soon. Let’s watch.”

Charlotte was gleeful, imagining the Hart family subdued, Olive slapped, her hair pulled, beaten. “What a wonderful sight!” Jean agreed, “Okay, let’s watch.”

Imperial bustled. People, filled with righteous indignation, wore white ribbons and marched, banners proclaiming, “Catch Olive and drive her out of Imperial!” Their numbers swelled. They stormed Hart’s house, fueled by anger. Knowing the Harts were skilled martial artists, they were nonetheless emboldened. “We’ll break down their gate!” “We’ll smash their house!” “Remember, our goal is Olive!”

They charged, only to halt. The Hart family’s gate stood wide open. Majestic, flanked by lions, the red sandalwood gate seemed to beckon, “Welcome!”

The crowd, initially boisterous, fell silent. The Hart house was eerily quiet. “Come in and have a look!” “Be gentle, watch out for traps!” Their aggression replaced by caution, they crept inside, like thieves.

Then, the Hart family butler emerged, bellowing, “Hey, who are you?” His voice jolted them. He pointed, demanding, “Who are you?”

“We…call your master out! We want to talk to him!”

The butler declared, “The master and madam are away. They left yesterday.”

The crowd was stunned. Why now? Was it intentional?

“What about your lady? Call Olive out!”

“My young lady is also out.”

“Olive isn’t home? Did she run away?”

The butler, frowning, defended Olive, “She went out to take care of some things. She’ll be back soon.”

Frozen, they stared at each other. Tom, Mia, and Olive were gone. Tom and Mia were on a trip. Where was Olive?

“We can’t leave empty-handed. Olive probably ran away. Such an evil woman doesn’t deserve to stay in Imperial. Let’s smash the house!”

A man in blue hurled a stone at the house, but the butler intercepted it with a flying kick. The crowd gasped. They’d heard of the Harts’ martial arts prowess—now they knew. The butler glared at the man, “Dare to cause trouble? Come here!”

Reinforcements arrived, tall, strong Hart family servants. Terror gripped the mob. They fled.

The butler sneered, “Run away now? Our family isn’t a place to come and go as you please!”

The bolder ones, feigning calm, asked, “What do you want?”

The butler commanded, “Close the door and let the dogs go!”

The rosewood door slammed shut. Howls and screams echoed through half of Imperial. A passerby muttered, “Who dares provoke the Hart family?”

At Paulo’s house, Charlotte awaited the video. A notification appeared: “Bro, see Olive’s tormented form!”

Jean joined her. The video showed enormous wolves lunging at the camera, jaws agape. Charlotte shrieked, dropping her phone, terrified. The horrifying video shattered her expectations. Her face drained of color; her body trembled.
