Chapter 444: Elvis
A long, luxury car slowly pulled up outside the gate. The back door opened, revealing Damienโs handsome, imposing figure. The private butler respectfully announced, โSir, Mr. Paulo, Nora, and Crystal are waiting inside.โ
โGot it,โ Damien replied, following the butler inside. A Rolls-Royce Phantom sped up behind him; the driver opened the door, and Elvis emerged. Elvis called out, โMr. Robert.โ
Damien stopped, turned, and stood on the steps, his thin lips pursed. โWhy are you here?โ His displeasure was evident.
Elvis quickly approached, stopping below Damien. Looking up, he said politely, โMr. Robert, I heard youโre revealing your true and false daughters today. I came toโฆ cheer you on.โ
Damien understood. A wry smile touched his lips. โBoy, where did that enthusiasm to introduce women to me last night come from? If you have the ability, don't be shy.โ
Elvis inwardly sighed. He'd deeply offended his father-in-law last night. Marrying his daughter now seemed a distant dream. He recalled his father's warning: don't offend Damien; be careful. His father had clearly known something. Elvis felt a torrent of frustrated words building, but he dared not unleash them. He forced a laugh. โMr. Robert, I was joking last night. Please forgive me. Weโll be family soon.โ
โFamily? Who is โweโ?โ Damien turned to leave.
Elvis watched him go, his eyes narrowing. The old man was out for revenge! He'd never humbled himself so completely. He considered leaving, but quickly caught up. โMr. Robert, wait!โ Giving up was impossible; he had to appease this man.
Mr. Paulo, Nora, and Crystal waited. The door opened, a gust of cold wind preceding Damienโs arrival. Crystalโs face lit up. โDaddy, youโre here!โ
Damien, in a thin black wool coat, removed his leather gloves, handing them to his butler, before glancing at the three. The butler offered Damien a chair, but before he could place it, Elvis intervened, taking the chair from the butler. He carefully wiped it with a cloth. โMr. Robert, please.โ
Damienโs butler felt threatened. Damien glanced at Elvis before sitting. Elvis found a chair, settling in to watch.
Crystal gasped, seeing Elvis. โElvis, why are you here? Did Dad ask you to discuss the wedding?โ
Elvisโs narrowed eyes conveyed his opinion of Crystal's intelligence. Nora felt a bad premonition. Damien sat regally, his fiery red eyes fixed on them.
Nora asked, โDamien, weโre discussing Crystal and Elvisโ weddingโฆ in prison? Is that auspicious?โ
Mr. Paulo also sensed something amiss. โDamien, speak. Crystal is your only daughter! Augustine and Robert's wedding was a huge event. You must entrust me to organize Crystalโs wedding!โ
Damienโs gaze fell on Mr. Paulo. His thin lips curved into a half-smile. โIs Crystal really my daughter?โ
This was his first sentence since entering. The Paulo family members stared, shocked.
Crystal jumped up. โDad, what are you saying? Didnโt you do a DNA test?โ
Nora cut her off. Crystal covered her mouth, realizing her mistake. Damienโs expression was impassive, his aura powerful. โCrystal, how do you know I did a DNA test?โ
Crystalโs face paled. โIโฆ,โ she stammered.
Damien said, โYou know, and you secretly altered the sample, didnโt you?โ
The butler presented the DNA results. Damien slammed them on the table beside Crystal. His eyes sharpened; anger flared. โLook carefully! This proves we are not related by blood. You are not my daughter!โ
The report landed with a sharp force, scratching Crystalโs face. She knew; her father knew all along. It was all a plan.
