Chapter 448: Marry Me, Let Me Be Your Mrs. Augustine
Nora gasped. The man from that night was the King of Greenland? For years, sheโd been alone, lonely, and deeply missed Damien. She never wanted to betray him; he was the only one in her heart. But that night, drunk in a bar, she vaguely remembered being carried to her room, followed by a wild night. The man vanished afterward, but Mrs. Robert discovered what happened and hadn't forgiven her since. Nora hated that man, yet she could only accept her defeat. Now, Mr. Paulo revealed the man's identity: the King of Greenland. Nora instantly understood; that night was no coincidence. She was trapped.
โDad, are you colluding with him to ensnare me? What are you planning?โ Nora demanded, agitated. A strange glint flickered in Mr. Paulo's eyes. He said, โNora, isnโt it amusing to cuckold Damien?โ Crystal, however, showed no interest. Then, countless voices flooded Crystalโs ears: โCrystal, your father is the King of Greenland, and you are the eldest princess!โ Crystal felt like a fairy, pride surging through her. โGrandpa, whereโs my dad? Does he know Iโm in trouble? Why isnโt he here?โ Crystal asked impatiently. She no longer wanted to be Damien's daughter; she wanted to be a Grand Princess. Mr. Paulo chuckled, โDonโt worry, your father is on his way.โ
Crystal relaxed, sat down, and straightened her back, adopting an arrogant princess demeanor. Someone like Olive was beneath her notice; Olive should prostrate herself!
Nora, unlike Crystal, wasn't naive. The King of Greenland was clearly not a good man. Why had he chosen her? He knew Crystal was his daughter, yet had ignored her for years. Clearly, he didn't care about her, so why was he here now? What was his purpose? Nora's thoughts swirled as the door burst open, revealing Elvis's tall, handsome form.
โElvis, youโre back?โ Crystal exclaimed, her face lighting up. Elvis strode in, his black pants clinging to his long legs like blades, his presence radiating a fierce, cold aura. His sharp eyes scrutinized Mr. Paulo. He spoke, his voice low, โMr. Paulo, tell me, what is the antidote for โOne Snapโ?โ
Mr. Paulo replied, โYoung Master Augustine, don't you know the potion requires Crystal's blood? Her blood is the medicine.โ
Elvis's gaze locked onto Crystal, a hint of lethal intent in his eyes. Crystal was terrified, but then remembered: she was a princess! She puffed out her chest, โElvis, only I can save Olive, Iโฆโ
Before she finished, Elvis grabbed her neck. Crystal gasped for air, her pupils dilating in panic. She struggled, but to no avail. He pressed her against the wall, lifting her off her feet. The pressure intensified, her face turning red. She couldn't breathe. She was dying.
Crystal looked at him, understanding his intent to kill her; his gaze was cold, filled with disgust. Nora, terrified, intervened, โYoung Master Augustine, what are you doing? Let go of Crystal!โ
Elvis's eyes flashed crimson. He coldly addressed Mr. Paulo, โWhat I hate most is being threatened. Itโs her blood, even from the dead, I can take it!โ
Nora trembled, shouting, โYoung Master Augustine, youโฆ!โ
Mr. Paulo chuckled, โYoung Master Augustine, do you think it's that simple? There's no real antidote. Using Crystal's blood only prolongs Oliveโs life. Without it, she'll age rapidly, her youth vanishing in an instant.โ
Elvis narrowed his eyes, โYou mean, Olive's life will depend on Crystal's blood?โ
Mr. Paulo clapped, โNo need for beating around the bush. Yes, Olive depends on Crystal's blood for weekly potions. You'd best pray Crystal lives to be a hundred, because Olive's life is in her hands. You must make Crystal your wife!โ
Elvisโs thin lips curved into a pale arc. He hadn't known Mr. Paulo planned to intertwine Olive and Crystal's fates. He released Crystal. She leaned against the wall, panting, coughing violently, the terror of near-death overwhelming her.
โCrystal, are you alright?โ Nora asked, patting her back. Crystal pushed her away, staring at Elvis with helplessness and resentment. โElvis, you know I love you, but you've hurt me. If you want me to save Olive, marry me. Let me be your Mrs. Augustine!โ
Elvis looked at her coldly, his lips curling in contempt. He said nothing, leaving Crystal humiliated by his gaze. He departed without a word.
Mr. Paulo stood, โCrystal, donโt worry. Elvis will contact you soon. Just wait to be Mrs. Augustine.โ Crystal wasn't afraid; if Elvis refused, Olive would die. Mr. Paulo added, โLetโs go, Crystal. Your fatherโs here.โ
