Chapter 461: Itโs All My Fault
Oliveโs home wasnโt Canada; she only stayed because of her constraints. Now, neither Elvis nor the Robert family could prevent her departure. She would leave and find her way back home.
Olive remained silent, offering no response to his question. Her silence was acquiescence enough. Unease and panic surged in Elvisโs heart. โOlive, you promised to stay by my side forever. I wonโt let you leave,โ he vowed, placing the OneLove necklace around her neck. โDonโt lose this again.โ
Olive lowered her eyes, staring at the necklace. She touched it, then said in a hoarse voice, โPour me a glass of water.โ
โOkay,โ Elvis replied, quickly rising and going to the kitchen. When he returned, Olive was already on the balcony, wearing a white dress. The open window admitted a cold wind, ruffling the hem of her dress. Elvisโs pupils constricted as he rushed toward her. โOlive, close the window! Itโs windy; youโll catch cold.โ
Olive seemed not to hear. She glanced at the necklace, removed it, and threw it out the window. It landed with a thud in the pond below.
Elvis stared at the discarded jewelry. His chest heaved, his handsome brows furrowed. He placed his hands on Oliveโs shoulders. โOlive, how could you?โ He had entered to find her face buried in her knees; now, he saw fine lines on her skin, a perfect yet imperfect handicraft; blemishes marred her face. He saw her aging for the first time and was startled. Her eyes, though reddened and swollen from crying, shone brighter than ever as she looked at him, her gaze unwavering.
โWhat, did I scare you?โ Olive asked calmly. โElvis, I will age. Don't let Crystal control you because of me. I donโt want to owe you anything. Let me go.โ She tried to shake off his hands.
Elvis cupped her face, lowering his head to kiss her fiercely. Oliveโs eyes widened. He wasnโt afraid of her current state? Could it be that he truly didnโt mind? Though he claimed indifference, Olive knew him to be a lustful man, drawn to beauty. She concluded he was acting unconcerned to spare her discomfort.
She pushed him away, but his sturdy body remained immovable. His kiss was a storm, stealing her breath. She threw a fist, then kicked him, to no effect. Finally, she bit his mouth. Elvis winced in pain. He stopped, his nose still against hers, his lips resting on the lines of her face.
โIโm sorry you saw yourself like this. I promise this is the last time. Every day in the future will be beautiful,โ he assured her, producing a pill. โOlive, swallow this.โ
Oliveโs gaze sharpened. โWhere did you get this antidote? How did you get Crystalโs blood?โ
He pursed his lips. โDonโt worry, just take it.โ
Olive crushed the pill underfoot. โI wonโt! I wonโt eat it!โ She knew heโd obtained it by sleeping with Crystal. What would come next? Would he return to her for another pill?
Coldness radiated from Elvis as he picked up the fallen pill. โOlive, you can fight me, but please take this first,โ he pleaded, offering it again. Olive saw the nervousness and concern in his eyes. Tears streamed down her face.
Elvis pulled her into his embrace. โIโm sorry, Olive. Itโs all my fault. Please stop crying.โ Olive sobbed audibly, her thin shoulders shaking. She felt utterly heartbroken. Before he came, her eyes were dry. Now, uncontrollable tears flowed. Olive had never felt so weak.
