Chapter 478: Olive's Miscarriage

Crystal stared at Olive in shock, completely bewildered. Why would Olive kill her child? A chilling possibility struck Crystal. โ€œOlive,โ€ she gasped, โ€œdo youโ€ฆ do you want to kill the child and frame me?โ€ Olive nodded. โ€œCrystal, youโ€™re finally smart.โ€

Crystal recoiled. โ€œOlive, this is your child! You want to kill your own child? Youโ€™re cruel!โ€ She began to sweat. This was Elvisโ€™s first child; losing it would have disastrous consequences. Crystal desperately wanted to avoid such trouble. She instinctively pulled her hand back as if stung, but Olive grabbed her. Crystalโ€™s eyes widened, her heart pounding. Terrorized, she screamed, struggling to break free. โ€œOlive, let go! Let go!โ€

Olive looked up, just as Elvis appeared. A bright smile spread across her face. โ€œCrystal,โ€ she announced, โ€œI wonโ€™t let you threaten him for the rest of his life. Iโ€™d rather destroy myself than watch you control him. Your game is over.โ€

Oliveโ€™s hand slipped, and she tumbled down the stairs. โ€œOMG!โ€ Crystal cried out. Elvis rushed to her side, witnessing Oliveโ€™s fall. His pupils constricted violently. โ€œOlive!โ€ he shouted, running to her and pulling her into his arms. โ€œOlive, itโ€™s me. Are you okay?โ€

Olive felt dizzy. She opened her eyes to see Elvisโ€™s handsome face. โ€œIt hurts,โ€ she mumbled, her body wracked with pain. She screamed in agony. Elvis saw the sweat beading on her forehead. He hesitated to hug her tightly, fearing he might cause further injury. โ€œWhere does it hurt, Olive? Tell me!โ€

Peterson pointed to Oliveโ€™s white dress. โ€œYoung Master,โ€ he exclaimed, โ€œMiss Hart is bleedingโ€ฆ losing a lot of blood.โ€ Elvis saw the blood spreading on the ground. Her white gown was soaked. He froze, looking at her in shock. โ€œOlive, whatโ€™s wrong?โ€

From upstairs, Crystal shrieked, โ€œOlive is pregnant! She just had a miscarriage!โ€

The words echoed in Elvisโ€™s mind. He suddenly remembered Oliveโ€™s recent poor appetite and malaise. Heโ€™d attributed it to stress, butโ€ฆ she was pregnant! She carried his child. Sadness clouded his handsome eyes. He gazed at Olive and asked calmly, โ€œOlive, are you pregnant?โ€

Olive tried to speak, her lips trembling. โ€œEnough,โ€ he commanded, picking her up and holding her close. โ€œDonโ€™t say anything. Iโ€™ll get you to the hospital.โ€

Olive saw the gloom etched on Elvisโ€™s usually handsome faceโ€”an expression sheโ€™d never seen before. She knew he cared about the child. Sheโ€™d known she was pregnant, but hadn't told him. Now, he didn't want to hear her speak.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom sped to the hospital. Elvis burst in, carrying the blood-soaked Olive. โ€œDoctor! Doctor!โ€ He was covered in blood himself, a humiliating and helpless moment for Imperial Cityโ€™s most honorable man. Doctors and nurses rushed forward. โ€œMr. Augustine, whatโ€™s wrong with Miss Hart? Please put her down.โ€

Elvis placed Olive on a stretcher, gripping the doctorโ€™s collar. โ€œShe had a miscarriage. Donโ€™t let anything happen to her!โ€ He seemed ready to fight if the outcome was unfavorable. โ€œWeโ€™ll do our best, sir,โ€ the doctor replied nervously, as nurses pulled Elvis away.

The doctor wheeled Olive into the operating room. The red light flashed on. Elvis waited in the corridor, stunned. He hadnโ€™t even known she was pregnant. The loss was devastating. He leaned against the cold wall, his heart aching. Heโ€™d longed to have a child with her, to be a father. Now, he was one, and he hadnโ€™t even known it. His chest tightened, his breath shallow.
