Chapter 492: Follow Him into the Room
What? Everyone stared at Crystal and her belly in surprise. Was she pregnant? Her Royal Highness had not only had an affair but was also pregnant with a bastard child? Seeing their shocked gazes, Crystal instinctively covered her stomach and shook her head. "No, I'm not pregnant. I am not pregnant with this man's child!" she insisted. When she'd first discovered her pregnancy, she'd been overjoyed. The irony of her current situation was crushing. She wished she could shatter the bowl of pregnancy medicine Elvis had given her. No wonder he'd fed it to her himself; she'd been so happy, and he must have seen her as a fool.
On the ground, Scar Man sneered. “Princess, don’t deny it. You've recently taken pregnancy medicine; everyone in the palace knows this baby is mine. I don’t want anything except to take you home, make you my wife, and have a chubby son. I’ll have no worries for the rest of my life! That’s the glory of my ancestors, hahaha!”
Crystal trembled with rage. She knew she’d offended a scoundrel who would never leave her alone. She’d always sought Elvis's glory to secure her own comfort, only to be ensnared by a villain intent on disrupting her opulent life. Her fate was dreadful. She didn’t want to marry this man! She didn't want this bastard's child! She wanted to kill him with her own hands! “Dad, get this man out!” she cried, appealing to Logan for help.
Logan's face darkened. This was a royal family joke that would become public fodder. He ordered, “Get this man out!”
“Look, they’re killing me! If anything happens to me, everyone must avenge me! The king wants to kill me! Mr. Theodore, you can’t do this to me! I am your daughter’s husband, and you’re my son’s grandfather! Dad!” Scar Man scrambled to Logan, hugging his leg and refusing to let go, affectionately calling him “Dad.” Logan was furious.
Meanwhile, Olive watched from afar, unprepared for the wedding's shocking turn. Elvis had never slept with Crystal; the child wasn't his. He’d merely used a substitute to harshly deal with Crystal. She remembered his furious frustration when she’d mentioned him sleeping with Crystal in the restricted area. Now, the truth was clear. He’d called her to “help,” a pretense; he'd wanted her to witness this. Olive turned to leave the wedding.
In the hallway, she saw Elvis. Palace lanterns illuminated his broad shoulders, exuding an air of masculine charm and nobility. But he wasn't alone; Clara, Logan's third princess, stood beside him. Clara was a favorite, her mother a renowned beauty skilled in manipulating men. Logan’s concubines had come and gone, but Clara’s mother remained his favorite wife. Legend had it that mesmerizing dance music filled Logan’s room when he visited her, and she possessed an uncanny ability to… entice men. Clara, clever and charming from a young age, could always make Logan laugh. Mother and daughter were both masters of seduction.
Clara wore a pastel pink dress, her pretty face captivating. She looked up at Elvis with admiration and pity. “Brother-in-law, don’t be sad. I know this is my sister’s fault; I apologize on behalf of my sisters. How about we go out tomorrow to relax? I know a fun place.”
Olive paused, observing Clara’s practiced display of feminine admiration, a sure way to please a man. There was nothing wrong with what she said; she showed sisterly innocence while subtly positioning herself above Crystal. Olive curled her lips. Crystal was finished; Clara was the most formidable woman she’d ever seen. Crystal, a naive girl in this palace, was about to be outmaneuvered and humiliated. Clara clearly had a crush on Elvis and was pursuing him relentlessly. Clara wasn’t an ordinary girl; she’d grown up in Logan’s harem, amidst palace intrigue.
Olive’s gaze returned to Elvis’s impassive, distant face. Then, as if moved, he turned, his dark eyes meeting hers. Clara followed his gaze, exclaiming, “Wow! What a beautiful young lady! Brother-in-law, do you know her?”
Elvis ignored Clara, his gaze fixed on Olive. Unfazed, Clara laughed. “Brother-in-law, you can chat with her. I won't disturb you. I’ll go first.” She left, then paused, turning to look at Olive. Their eyes met. After a moment, Clara waved, “Miss, goodbye,” and disappeared.
Elvis and Olive remained. He opened a nearby door and entered. Olive followed. The room was empty. Suddenly, a "clack" came from behind. Olive spun around to find Elvis leaning against the closed door.
