Chapter 519: Olive Met Her Son, Nathan
Olive was stunned by Mr. Lucas's words. How could Nathan, Levi and Ivy's son, possibly have a mental defect? Shock quickly gave way to unwavering belief in her son. "Mr. Lucas," she replied calmly, "it's not unusual for a child not to speak at three. I have some experience in language education and can dedicate more time to teaching him. We can also guide him in socializing with other children. The key is to treat Nathan as a normal child, not to segregate him."
Mr. Lucas, impressed by Olive's determination, stated, "Miss Hart, hiring you was clearly the right decision. You're perfect for this role." He then began his lesson, engaging the children in counting. Nathan, however, found the activity childish. A leading mobile game app developer, he felt profoundly out of place in kindergarten. He yawned, laid his head on the table, and fell asleep.
Mr. Lucas announced Olive's arrival, and the children enthusiastically welcomed their new teacher. Olive entered, her red lips curved in a smile, her bright eyes taking in the scene. "Hello, children, I'm your new teacher, Miss Hart!"
An excited child nudged Nathan, urging him to wake up and see the "fairy" teacher, but he remained asleep. He'd stayed up late working, and was very tired. Olive approached Nathan and softly said, "Hello, Nathan, wake up."
The gentle voice, reminiscent of his mother's, roused Nathan. He saw Olive, dressed in a floral dress, her long black hair flowing freely, her face makeup-free. The moment felt dreamlike; he often dreamt of his mother, but her face remained blurry. Now, it was crystal clear. He rubbed his eyes, unsure if he was still dreaming. Olive crouched down, winked, and said, "Hello, Nathan, you're so cute. Why are you sleeping in class? Go to bed before nine, and you'll be even cuter!"
Nathan's face flushed. Olive's smile was warm and reassuring. She then presented each child with a gift. Nathan received a simple smiley face, a gift chosen with an understanding of his talents. "I heard Nathan is already very talented," Olive said. "Miss Hart hopes you'll smile more in the future."
After school, Elvis, impeccably dressed in a black suit, picked up Nathan. He easily carried his son in one arm while holding his schoolbag in the other, their Rolls-Royce Phantom awaiting them.
