Chapter 41: He Brought a Woman Back

Olive opened the room door. Gabriella was already there, fist clenched, glaring with reddened eyes. The engagement party was over. Patrick and Monica had dismissed the guests and were dealing with the fallout. Gabriella, who had envisioned herself as Derrick's bride, was jolted back to reality. All she wanted was to strangle Olive.

“Olive, what did you say to confuse Derrick? Was that message from you? What was it about?”

Olive pursed her lips. “Ask Derrick.”

“Olive, are you happy now?”

Gabriella felt frustrated. No matter how hard she tried to humiliate Olive, she always ended up humiliated. Tears of resentment streamed down her face.

Olive looked at Gabriella and muttered, “You invited me to the engagement party. Are you satisfied with the outcome? Don't cry like a loser. I'm very happy. You've repeatedly caused me trouble, and now you've gotten a taste of your own medicine.”

“Fuck you!” Gabriella felt as if she were kneeling at Olive's feet.

Olive moved closer, whispering, “Oh, and I forgot to mention, I won't let you win the rest of the game.”

Olive headed for the stairs. Gabriella felt her head spin; she shut her eyes and collapsed. Olive stopped, turning to stare.

“Gabriella!” Monica rushed over, lifting Gabriella. “Gabriella, what’s wrong? Wake up! Olive, do you think destroying people’s engagement party and acting as a mistress is honorable?”

Patrick also approached. Like Monica, he had hoped Gabriella would marry into the Domino family. The party's destruction felt like the shattering of his dream.

“Olive, I always thought your poor attitude stemmed from your orphanage upbringing. I never expected such viciousness. For goodness sake, Gabriella is your sister!”

Olive walked back, and as she neared Patrick, he raised his hand to slap her. Olive didn't flinch. She met his gaze coldly and leaned into his palm.

“Dad, hit me. Hit me hard. Since you despise me so much, why didn’t you kill me after Mother died?”

Patrick's hand froze. Olive turned to Monica. “Speaking of being a mistress, Mother, you're truly my mentor. It’s a pity your daughter didn’t inherit your top attribute.”

Olive turned and left. Monica's heart ached. “Patrick, call an ambulance! Hurry!”

Olive left the villa and headed to the Red Villa. A luxurious business car was parked by the roadside. Elvis watched her from the open window. Raven saw the arriving ambulance and the medical staff carrying a stretcher.

“Elvis, your bride is something else. She turned a grand engagement party into this mess. I think taming her will be difficult.”

Raven understood Elvis's attraction to Olive: calm, intelligent, brave, and dazzling. Such a woman easily ignited a man's desire. Olive disappeared from view. Elvis looked away.

“I’m going.”

“Where? Red Villa?”

“Back to the company.”

Raven sensed a mystery about Elvis. He clearly worried about Olive at the party, rushing over to check on her.

Olive first visited Aunt Rebecca in the hospital. Aunt Rebecca was asleep, so Olive returned to the Red Villa and lay down. Though she’d won a battle, she felt unhappy, unloved. She wanted to message North but feared disturbing her on set. She closed her eyes but couldn't sleep, suddenly missing Elvis's warm embrace. If he were here, he'd hold her.

Wait, what was she thinking? She quickly dismissed the thought. He was a scumbag, probably with Rita, his director. Why did she suddenly crave his hugs? Olive closed her eyes, forcing herself to sleep.

The next morning, Olive found Mr. Henry, the butler, instructing the servants.

“Wipe here clean. No dust.”

“Is the food ready? The juice?”

Olive went downstairs. “Uncle Henry, why the extra cleaning? Is it a special day? Expecting guests?”

Mr. Henry’s eyes flickered. “Ma’am Olive, the young master called, saying he’s coming home with a guest. We should prepare a warm welcome.”

“A VIP?”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Olive was unaware of the guest, uninformed by Elvis. The gate opened, and a luxurious car drove in, parking on the lawn.

“Young master is back!” Mr. Henry announced. Olive stood by the door, watching. A servant opened the car door, revealing Elvis's tall frame. He wore a handmade white shirt and black trousers. Another figure emerged—Rita, in a red dress, her figure strikingly displayed. Her makeup was exquisite; her red lips dazzling. She was captivating.

Elvis had brought Rita home. Olive froze, stunned that he'd brought another woman.
