Chapter 708: She Stole You!

Alpha raised his head and met Annabelleโ€™s beautiful eyes. She stared back, nervously and with concern. Annabelle quickly realized she had overreacted, withdrawing her hand from his forehead.

At that moment, the driverโ€™s side door of the car ahead opened, and Bounty emerged. Annabelle hadn't seen her in years. Through the windshield, she saw Bounty's eyes, filled with hatred, fixed on her. Bounty's intense animosity explained the frantic driving and forced stop.

Annabelle reached for the passenger door, but Alpha's low voice stopped her. "I'll go," he said, "you stay."

Annabelle turned to him. "Your sister is looking for me. I'll meet her."

Alpha pursed his lips, his voice hardening. "Is there a reason she'd seek you out? Do you intend to further provoke her?"

Hearing the irony, Annabelle quietly lowered her head. Alpha exited, locking the car to prevent her from following.

He approached Bounty. "Bounty, are you crazy? Do you want to kill us?"

Bounty looked at Annabelle, then at Alpha. "Brother, get Annabelle out of the car. I need to speak with her."

"Say it to me," Alpha replied indifferently.

"Bro!" Bounty cried. "All these years, why haven't you changed?" She noted that Annabelle, too, hadn't changed much in over twenty years. Annabelle, once a talented woman, retained her beauty and charm. What infuriated Bounty most was Annabelle's unchanging youthful spiritโ€”a woman in her forties still living like a young girl. This contrasted sharply with Bounty's own life. Joyce, though possessing a different personality, also retained a youthful vibrancy; Joyce was naturally playful, intelligent, and self-sufficient, while Annabelle had been sheltered and spoiled by Alpha.

More than thirty years earlier, Annabelle had married Alpha. He had provided for her and protected her, shielding her from life's storms. For years, her focus had remained solely on jewelry design. This, perhaps, contributed to her seemingly untouched, reserved demeanor. Married at nineteen, she still lived a carefree life. Bounty couldn't understand this, in stark contrast to her own experiences. Could the difference be Alpha? Could it be the absence of a man like Alpha in her own life?

Alpha frowned at Bounty's fierce expression. "Control yourself," he said, "and think clearly. This isn't productive. I'm leaving."

He turned to go, but Bounty intercepted him, noticing the swollen wound on his forehead from the accident. "Brother, you're hurt! You swerved to protect Annabelle, didn't you? You'd rather hurt yourself than her!"

"Wake up, Bro! She doesn't love you! She has no feelings for you! You forcibly married her, yet she still betrayed you!"

Alpha listened impassively, his dark eyes fixed on her. "Finished?" he asked.

"No! Bro, Annabelle killed my childโ€”a nine-month-old boy! I still dream of him every night. I dream of him crying for help! I can't have children. I'm not even a mother! How could you be so cruel?" Bounty's emotions spilled over, a raw torrent of grief.

Alpha, despite the pain of his sister's words, gently placed a hand on her trembling shoulder. "Bounty, calm down."

"How can I calm down? I'm your sister! Blood is thicker than water, but you're obsessed with Annabelle! You protected her even after my child died! She stole you from us!"

Their relationship, fractured years ago, remained irreparably broken.

Alpha pursed his lips. Then, a sweet voice interrupted. "Principal Bounty, what a coincidence. What are you doing here?"

Alpha and Bounty turned to see Olive, dressed in a short, black dress, a warm smile gracing her face. Bounty's intense emotions began to subside. She wiped away her tears and forced a smile. "Olive, what are you doing here?" Her love for Olive was genuine.
