Chapter 749 Auction

Rory had cared for Bounty in the ward for two days. Bounty remained in a coma.

Annabelle arrived to visit Bounty. They met as Annabelle entered the ward. Alpha appeared moments later, escalating the tension.

Alpha clearly doubted their explanation. His narrowed, gloomy eyes fixed on Annabelle. “Why does this always happen to you, Annabelle? Why are you here? To see Bounty, or someone else?”

“Alpha, you’re being unreasonable!” Annabelle retorted angrily.

“Annabelle, who did you come to see? Be clear!” Alpha pressed.

Rory looked between them, beginning, “Guys…”

“Shut up!” Alpha interrupted.

“Don’t say anything!” Annabelle echoed.

Rory, silenced by both, was stunned.

Olive sighed. This was Alpha and Annabelle’s love—painful, pessimistic, or sad, it was entirely theirs, beyond outside interference.

Olive stepped forward. “Aunty Annabelle, why are you here?”

Annabelle looked up, seeing Olive and trying to pull away from Alpha’s grasp. He refused to release her.

Annabelle brushed hair from her cheek, whispering, “Let go, the children are here!”

They were no longer young; they didn't want to quarrel in front of the children. Seeing her discomfort, Alpha released her.

“Olive, I’m here to see Bounty.”

Olive hugged Annabelle’s arm. “Aunty Annabelle, I’m also here to see Aunty Bounty.”

“Olive, Bounty has been in a coma for a while. When will she wake up?” Annabelle asked worriedly.

“I plan to take Aunt Bounty to Imperial City for treatment of her heart disease.”

Silence fell. Imperial City held painful memories; no one wished to reopen those wounds.

Olive’s bright eyes met Alpha’s. “Uncle Alpha, this trip to Imperial isn't just for me. Aunt Annabelle, Aunty Bounty, Rory, and you will come with me.”

Alpha looked displeased. “Why take everyone to Imperial City?”

Olive smiled. “Uncle Alpha, you’ll know once we get there.”

Alpha pursed his lips. “I won’t go. You all go ahead.” He turned and left, allowing no further discussion. Annabelle grabbed Olive. “Olive, you must have your reasons. I can go back to Imperial City with you, but Alpha… convincing him will be difficult.”

Olive’s eyes gleamed playfully. “I have to bring Uncle Alpha back this time. There are exceptions to everything, even Uncle Alpha.”

Annabelle was curious. “What exceptions are there in Alpha’s life?”

Olive smiled, saying nothing. The exception in Alpha’s life was undeniably Annabelle.

Olive and Annabelle left the hospital. Anticipating a visit with Mrs. Samantha, they went to an auction house for antiques as gifts.

Upon arrival, Olive saw Eleanor and Franklin. They had recently come into unexpected wealth, thanks to Elvis's bank card. Having spent it on clothes and jewelry, they now sought to flaunt their newfound riches at the auction house.

They found a luxurious room where a waiter offered refreshments. Franklin demanded to speak with the owner, wanting to see the most expensive items. Eleanor agreed, impressed by even the cake's quality.

The waiter, unused to such behavior, explained that the owner wouldn't come down, regardless of the amount they wished to spend.

Franklin, displaying his bank card, declared their lack of financial constraints. The waiter politely replied that the owner was similarly well-off.

Franklin was incredulous. The waiter directed them to participate in the upcoming auction.

Eleanor and Franklin grumbled, then looked up and saw Olive and Annabelle.
