Chapter 71: Give Her a Gold Necklace

Oliveโ€™s stunning face flushed crimson. โ€œElvis, youโ€™re shameless!โ€

He laughed sweetly. โ€œGo sue me for domestic violence. If you want, I can help you find a lawyer. Go tell the world I spanked your ass.โ€

Olive raised her foot and kicked him. Elvis pulled her close, removing her mask. His gaze fell upon her beautiful, bare face. He lowered his head and kissed her lips.

Frightened, Olive covered her mouth. Elvisโ€™s lips found her pink fingernails instead. She hadnโ€™t expected that. His eyes then settled on her loose black hair, adorned with a cute hairpin. He kissed her hair.

Everything about her fascinated him. Olive felt his affection; such affirmation was precious to any girl.

โ€œMr. Augustine, Iโ€™ll go in. North will be looking for me.โ€

Elvis stared into her pretty eyes and chuckled. โ€œGrandma said I should ask if you need help.โ€

Olive knew Mrs. Samantha referred to her Ivory Council application. She looked at him. โ€œNo, I donโ€™t. But send my thanks to her.โ€

Elvis knew she was resourceful, but insisted, โ€œAre you certain you can handle this?โ€

Olive found his question slightly disrespectful. She rolled her eyes. โ€œI canโ€™t even dare ask for your help. Itโ€™ll be hard for you to be caught between Pamela and me. Oh, and today at my fatherโ€™s house, my father wants you as his son-in-law, and Pamela also wants to be your brideโ€ฆโ€

Elvis swiftly kissed her, fiercely and passionately. Olive pressed her hands against his chest and pushed him away.

Elvis shook his head, burying his handsome face in her long hair. He whispered, โ€œYouโ€™ve been with North for two days. Arenโ€™t you okay? Come home with me.โ€ He begged like a child.

Olive shook her head. โ€œIโ€™m not ready to go home.โ€

Elvis reached into his pocket, produced a necklace, and placed it around her neck. Olive felt its coolness.

โ€œItโ€™s for you. Do you like it?โ€ he asked.

Heโ€™d already given her a cake; now a diamond necklace. His actions resembled those of a boyfriend seeking forgiveness.

Olive nodded. โ€œI like it.โ€

โ€œOlive, give me a kiss if you like it.โ€ Elvis bent his head and kissed her hungrily.

Olive re-entered the house, quietly closing the door. North leaned against the wall, her eyes scrutinizing Olive.

Guilty, Olive avoided her gaze.

North pursed her lips. โ€œElvis visited.โ€

โ€œYes, he did.โ€ Olive nodded.

โ€œOlive, you werenโ€™t lying about the kissing stage. He kissed you for a long time. He seems to love kissing a lot.โ€ Northโ€™s attention focused on Oliveโ€™s swollen lips.

Embarrassed, Olive placed the cake on the table to change the subject. โ€œNorth, letโ€™s eat.โ€

North fetched a plate, fork, and knife. While cutting the cake, she noticed Oliveโ€™s necklace.

โ€œOne Love? From Mr. Augustine?โ€

โ€œThis necklace is called One Love,โ€ North stated, familiar with fashion and jewelry brands. โ€œOne Love is rarely available. The last one was auctioned some time ago; Iโ€™m certain this is it, as they havenโ€™t released new ones since. A mysterious buyer purchased it. I didnโ€™t expect it to be Mr. Augustine.โ€

Olive smiled shyly, caressing the gold necklace.

Pamela arrived early at the Ivory Council, resuming her work. Famous among the students, she was a favorite of Greg, the research team leader.

โ€œFamiliarize yourself with the environment. If you donโ€™t understand anything, ask me,โ€ Greg instructed.

Pamela sipped her coffee and smiled sweetly. โ€œMr. Greg, thank you, youโ€™re so kind.โ€

Greg smiled and admired her. Pamela glanced around. โ€œBy the way, is my sister, Olive, here?โ€

Since leaving the Hartsโ€™ house, no one had heard from Olive. The Ivory Council, a secluded medical research facility, lacked internet access, isolating it from the outside world.

Greg shook his head. โ€œEveryone admitted has arrived. I havenโ€™t heard that name among the new researchers. And Oliveโ€ฆ didnโ€™t she only graduate high school? How could our institute admit her?โ€

Pamela sipped her coffee, a soft smile playing on her lips. Olive had lost. Everyone had placed bets on her admission; Pamela was certain Olive would be mocked.

A pleasant voice sounded beside her. โ€œPamela, are you looking for me?โ€
