Chapter 75: Mr. Lu's Phone

Greg demanded, "I don't care, Olive. Hurry and clean the entire place."

Olive told Divine, "I'll go clean up." As she gathered the cleaning supplies Greg had left on the floor, Divine argued with Greg.

"Greg, I don't think this is what Director Hudson ordered. You're deliberately making things difficult for Olive."

Greg glared at Divine. "Divine, how did you become friends with Olive? Birds of a feather flock together. And don't call me in front of others again. You embarrassed me greatly today."

Tears welled in Divine's eyes. "Greg, since I'm an embarrassment to you, let's cancel the engagement."

"You made this choice. Don't come crying to me," Greg threatened, fearing her regret.

"Don't worry, there won't be," Divine replied, taking some supplies from Olive. "Olive, I'll help you. Let's go."

Divine genuinely liked Greg. He was handsome, wealthy, and a medical studentโ€”seemingly perfect.

Olive stared at Divine. "Divine, don't be sad. Greg isn't suitable for you. You'll find someone better."

Divine smiled sadly, wiping her tears. "I won't cry anymore. He's not worth it."

They cleaned until evening, finishing as the institute closed and students left.

"Olive, let's go together," Divine suggested.

Olive shook her head. "Divine, I want to return to the pharmacy to study. You've worked all day; go home and rest."

Divine hesitated, realizing her lack of interest in medicine, and bid Olive farewell.

After Divine left, Olive went to the pharmacy. Unable to find the light switch, she fumbled forward.

"Ouch!" she cried, bumping into a wall. Covering her forehead, she looked up and saw a pale face in the darkness.

"Goodness!" she screamed.

The lights flickered on, revealing a young man, perhaps in his early twenties, handsome and calm.

"Why didn't you make a sound? You startled me," Olive said.

He stared indifferently, returned to his chair, and went back to sleep. Olive found his behavior odd but quickly looked away at the medicines.

She began memorizing names, but exhaustion claimed her, and she fell asleep.

Silence filled the pharmacy until the man awoke, picked up his book, and began reading.

A man in black entered. "Young Master, I brought your supper." He offered a flask of noodles.

The man, without looking up, coldly muttered, "Go."

"Young Master, if you don't want this, I can get something else. And you should go home; it's been a while since you returned to New York."

"Go," the man repeated.

The man in black hastily left. Finding the medical book boring, the man closed it, stood, and approached Olive. She wore a mask, her black hair framing her face. He removed her mask.

Her phone rang; the screen displayed "Mr. Augustine." He replaced her mask.

Olive awoke to the ringing phone. The man was gone. She answered.

"Hello, Mr. Augustine."

Elvis's low, charismatic voice replied, "Why so late? I almost came to catch the adulterer."

"Mr. Augustine, your imagination's wild. I'm still at the institute; I was exhausted and dozed off. You have nothing to worry about," she said softly.

"I'll pick you up," Elvis said, his tone softer.

"No need. I need to study. In three days, I face Director Hudson's task. Everyone wants me to fail, so I'll study overtime."

Elvis didn't press, changing to casual conversation. "How many handsome guys did you meet today? I hear there are many wealthy ones there."

Olive felt Elvis's controlling nature, his aggressive behavior coupled with a strong desire to control her actions and friendships. She'd always done things her way, but his restrictions on her male friends were new.
