Chapter 79: The Gathering of LA's Celebrities

Pamela and Gwen had heard that a mysterious buyer had purchased the last Onlylove necklace. How could Olive possess it? Pamela's heart sank; the jealousy simmering within threatened to erupt.

"Olive, who gave you that Onlylove necklace?"

Olive touched the necklace, now visible at her throat. She looked directly at Pamela. "So you know about Onlylove, and who gave it to me? Don't you?" She lowered her voice. "Stop deceiving yourself about who gave it to me."

Olive left the pharmacy. Pamela was stunned, clenching her fists. She already suspected Elvis. Her heart pounded. Initially angered by Olive's newfound popularity with students, the gift from Elvis sent her over the edge.

Greg approached. "Pamela," he called.

Pamela ignored him and left. She'd once found Greg somewhat valuable, but his recent shortcomings made her dismiss him.

Pamela checked her social media. Olive was trending. Comments included, "Olive passed Director Hudson's test! Olive is a devil!" and "I'm an Olivite! Olive knows how to handle her business. #teamOlivite." Olive's follower count had exploded from twelve million to over eighteen million in just a few days. Her fans were posting and tagging her relentlessly.

Pamela gripped her phone, nearly smashing it against the wall, when a ringtone interrupted. It was Gwen.

"Hello, Gwen."

"Pamela, did Olive really pass the test? Twelve thousand medicinal substances? I don't believe it!" Gwen exclaimed.

"Gwen, it's not important. Let's have fun tonight at KissLand. Call the usual crowd." Pamela changed the subject.

"Pamela, you're still in the mood for fun?" Gwen questioned incredulously.

"Gwen, don't you love Onlylove? All the ladies in LA do."

"Wait, you know who the mysterious buyer is? Did you see the necklace?" Gwen's excitement surged.

Pamela laughed. "Yeah, invite everyone. They'll love seeing an Onlylove necklace."

Olive received a call from North. "Olive, the LA ladies are having a hangout at KissLand tonight. They invited us. Are you going?"

Olive frowned. "All the LA celebrities are gathering? Of course, I'm going."

"Great!"

KissLand bar, owned by the Heavens family, was ready. Gwen, as a Heaven princess, had reserved a beautiful room. LA's celebrities, glamorous and impeccably dressed, filled the space.

"Pamela, you said you'd show us your Onlylove necklace. Is that true?" a movie star asked. "Onlylove sold out to a mysterious buyer. Have you figured out who it is?"

"How old is the buyer? Handsome? Wealthy?" another celebrity inquired.

The celebrities coveted Onlylove. Possessing one was the ultimate status symbol. Competition among celebrities for the latest luxury goods was fierce. North, as a model for many brands, had privileged access; others had to scramble.

Gwen pulled Pamela aside. "Pamela, you said we'd see Onlylove. Where is it?"

Pamela checked her watch. "Don't worry, it should arrive soon."

The door opened, and Olive and North entered. The socialites, anticipating their arrival, braced themselves. Olive, straight from the research institute, wore a white uniform shirt, black bow tie, and black high-waisted skirt. North wore a vintage-style royal top, showing her collarbone, paired with blue ripped jeans.

"Sorry we're late," they apologized, taking their seats.

Pamela stepped forward. "Olive, North, you're here! We've been waiting..."
