Chapter 46
Inca nervously stammered, "Of course. My loyalty to you is unquestionable, Mr. Rivas. But I must congratulate you in advance on becoming head of Rivas Corporation at such a young age. Your future achievements will be remarkably impressive, not only in Kerdonia but throughout Thalarea."
The flattery left Enzo visibly pleased. Luca's words weren't empty; there was a certain truth to them. The smile on Enzo's face hadn't lessened since leaving the estate. "I'm going to lead the Rivas family to the top of all the elite powerhouses. That's the kind of accomplishment I want. Right now, we're strong in Kerdonia, but compared to the truly powerful families in Thalarea, we're still weak."
The Rivas family's rise to its current status had been a long and arduous journey. Both Elliot and Elisa had fought their way through countless obstacles to build the family's current position.
It was natural for Enzo to have such ambitions, but it also revealed his lack of experience with hardship. Ambition and sharp edges are often dulled by reality, a lesson Enzo would eventually learn.
Soon, Enzo entered the hospital with a large group of bodyguards. The security guards lowered their heads, afraid to provoke them. Upstairs, Enzo found Anthony in the corridor.
"Hello, Mr. Curtis," Enzo greeted him.
As the eldest son of the Rivas family, Enzo was well-known to anyone working in Kerdonia. Anthony was surprised and hurriedly shook Enzo's hand. "Hello, Mr. Rivas. What brings you here?"
Enzo chuckled, slipping his hand into his pocket. Although he still smiled, a hint of disdain flickered in his eyes. The Curtis family, in his view, lacked the standing to associate with someone like him.
"Oh, I was sent to escort Mr. Archer to the banquet. You're going too, right? Why don't we go together?" Enzo offered.
Anthony immediately shook his head, his nervousness evident. "Oh, no, thank you. We can get there ourselves. There's no need to trouble you, Mr. Rivas. Mr. Archer is inside. I'll go in and inform him you're here."
"Alright," Enzo merely nodded.
When Anthony opened the door, Enzo saw not Kyle, but Faith. His eyes widened. At that moment, he understood the meaning of breathtaking.
Faith wore a simple white dress—its simplicity highlighting her beauty. Her shoulders were delicate, her long hair elegantly waved. Her legs were long and slender. Her pale face, though hinting at illness, added to her fragile beauty and evoked compassion. Her beauty was unparalleled.
Enzo stood frozen, dumbfounded.
He snapped out of his daze only when Kyle stepped beside Faith.
Anthony quickly said, "Mr. Archer, this is Mr. Enzo Rivas of the Rivas family. He's Ms. Rivas' younger brother."
"A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Archer. I was instructed to escort you to the banquet," Enzo said respectfully. "There's no rush; take your time."
Despite his respectful demeanor, Enzo's mind was filled with other emotions. Kyle, though good-looking and charismatic, was simply dressed in a white shirt—no luxurious watch or other accessories. Enzo considered his attire too plain.
More importantly, Kyle's closeness to Faith sparked an inexplicable wave of jealousy in Enzo. Unaware of Enzo's feelings, Kyle said, "Elisa is certainly courteous. But since you're already here, let's head out."
Several errors were corrected, including misspelled words (e.g., "rmly," "Enzoilmaughly," "fice," "comidor," "sickdy," "Fattle," "Ruivas"), grammatical issues (e.g., subject-verb agreement, sentence structure), and punctuation. The narrative flow was also improved for better readability. Some phrasing was adjusted for clarity and style.
