Chapter 85

Henderson's bodyguards swiftly appeared, easily subduing Belle's security team. Belle frowned, realizing she might have underestimated him. Henderson didn't harm her bodyguards, instead mocking them with a smirk. "With these amateurs? How can they protect you?"

He continued, "But don't worry. I can provide full protection anytime. So, what do you say now? Are you willing to be friends? Knowing me won't be a loss."

Belle observed his overly confident expression, her frown deepening. She'd never seen him in Kerdonia, and he clearly wasn't a local elite. He was an outsider. Without knowing his background, she decided against rash action.

She smiled faintly. "Mr. Khan, grabbing my people and threatening me doesn't seem very friendly, does it?" Seeing her smile, Henderson kicked a bodyguard. "Let go! Why are you being so aggressive?" The bodyguard looked aggrieved, but the others quickly released Belle's team.

Belle's expression softened. "Mr. Khan, you don't seem ordinary. But I've never heard of you, in Kerdonia or Thalares. There's no Khan family."

"Testing me? How playful. Eager to know who I am?"

His confidence deepened Belle's disgust, though she didn't show it. Something more had to be behind it. He produced a business card. Belle glanced at it: "Henderson Capital, General Manager."

Belle sighed in exasperation, nearly discarding the card. He was only a general manager?

"Mr. Khan, I don't think you have time for games," Belle said, returning the card, her gaze sharp. This was his last chance; any more stalling, and she would leave.

"Everyone needs a title, right? But honestly, I'm not into proper work. My family has its businesses, but I chose to start something on my own. I've had some success."

Henderson narrowed his eyes. "Ms. Cotton, have you heard of Heavens Group?"

Belle's eyes froze. The Khan surname was common, but a Khan from Heavens Group? Heavens Group was a top-tier Rhineland conglomerate, with assets worth hundreds of billions.

Belle no longer dismissed Henderson. She understood his arrogance; for someone in the Khan family, it was almost justified.

"So, you're a young master of the Khan family. I apologize for my oversight," Belle said with a soft smile. "What brings you to Kerdonia, Mr. Khan? Business or leisure?"

Seeing the shift in Belle's attitude, Henderson felt triumphant. This was exactly what he wanted—the satisfaction of breaking through an icy wall.

"I'm here to handle a few matters. Nothing major." He grinned mischievously. "It's good you know Heavens Group, Ms. Cotton. We can work together in the future."

"Heavens Group is a commercial giant. To work with such a powerhouse would be an honor," Belle replied politely. She exhaled softly. "But unfortunately, Life Pharma isn't quite qualified for that."

Belle was self-aware. Life Pharma held some weight in Kerdonia, but Heavens Group was one of Rhineland's top five conglomerates. It was worlds apart. "Collaboration" with Heavens Group wasn't collaboration; it would elevate her instantly.
