Chapter 107: No Turning Back

If this was the game they wanted to play, she’d make sure they felt the consequences. Tenderness was their favorite. If they hurt someone she cared about, Sierra would ensure they faced the consequences and bore the burden.

“You…” Bradley was so shocked and furious he was speechless. He never expected Sierra to be so ruthless. He’d had disagreements with her before, but she had never gone this far. Did ties that weren't truly meaningful mean that much to her?

A strange feeling of jealousy washed over Bradley. Sierra was supposed to care about them, not favor outsiders. She had always stood by their side, looking out for them without question. But now, she didn’t care anymore—and they would never get that back.

File, however, couldn’t care less about Bradley’s thoughts. Once they reached an agreement, she turned her attention back to Dickson.

“Don’t be scared. I’m here. I’ll take you home.”

With that, she grabbed his medication and led him out of the hospital. Bradley stood frozen, unable to process what had just happened.

News of the incident quickly reached the Xander family. By the time Evan and Sean arrived at the hospital, they found Bradley sitting there, his expression dark and stormy. Seeing his injury, Sean’s temper flared immediately. “Who did this? Was it Sierra? I’ll make her pay!”

Bradley quickly held him back, his voice hoarse. “It wasn’t her.”

After a brief hesitation, he recounted everything that had happened. His brothers were just as furious as he was.

“Has this affected her mind?”

“Why would she say something like that—for an outsider?”

After a long silence, Bradley finally spoke. “To her, we’re the outsiders now.”

At that, neither of them could say another word.

Meanwhile, Sierra had already taken Dickson home. Once they arrived, his emotions settled, and he seemed much calmer and more clear-headed. Still, he looked at her with guilt in his eyes. “Sierra, I’m sorry. I caused so much trouble for you.”

At the time, he hadn’t even realized what had happened. When that man started talking, Dickson tried to ignore him. But the moment he insulted Sierra, he couldn’t hold back.

“Sierra, you should have defended me. He’s right.”

“What are you talking about?” Sierra’s expression darkened. “Did you forget everything I told you? Do you really believe a stranger’s words over mine?”

Seeing her distress, Dickson immediately apologized. “I’m sorry, Sierra. That’s not what I meant.”

Sierra exhaled and met his eyes. “Listen to me, Dickson. I’ll say this again. You are not at fault.”

Dickson swallowed hard, then gave her a firm nod. Sierra never told Lily what had really happened to Dickson. Lily had been asking about him for days, but Sierra simply said he had caught a cold and didn’t want to risk getting her sick. Even then, Lily had been worried. She kept telling Sierra to make him some nourishing food to help him recover.

Once they finished talking about Dickson, Lily suddenly changed the subject. “By the way, James and Yulia showed up days ago. I have no idea how they even found me.”

Sierra didn’t need to guess—it was obviously the Xander family who had leaked the information. They seemed much better off than before—she had no idea what happened. They tried to take her with them, but she refused. James even tried to force her, but luckily, Dr. Zahn heard the commotion and stepped in. James is reckless—he even shoved Dr. Zahn, and the poor guy twisted his ankle. Luckily, it wasn’t his hand. Imagine what would have happened if a surgeon injured his hand!

Even Lily understood how valuable a surgeon’s hands were. They couldn’t afford to get hurt. Sierra hadn’t expected this turn of events, and her brows furrowed slightly. As expected, anything involving James always led to trouble.

Since Oscar had gotten hurt because of Lily, it was only right for Sierra to check on him. After leaving Lily’s hospital room, she headed straight to Oscar’s office. The moment he saw her, Oscar’s face lit up. “It’s been days since I last saw you.”

“I’ve been busy these past few days,” Sierra replied. “I heard about what happened the other day. Thank you, Dr. Zahn, and I’m sorry for the trouble. How’s your ankle?”

“It’s nothing,” Oscar said casually. “I just lost my balance and twisted it a little. I sprayed some medicine on it, and it stopped hurting right away. Madam Lily was more worried about it than I was.”

“Dr. Zahn, do you have time for lunch later? Let me treat you to a meal.”

Since Oscar had work in the afternoon, they didn’t go far. Instead, they chose a restaurant near the hospital.
