Chapter 118: Bumps in the Night
Just moments ago, Dickson was on high alert and didn't feel it, but now that he relaxed, seeing people made him instantly uncomfortable. He wanted to hurry back, but then he bumped into someone, increasing his unease. He quickly muttered, "I'm sorry," and turned to run, but the person caught him. "Hey, you look so familiar."
Hearing that, Dickson instinctively retorted, "It's not me, it's not..." Those beasts had filmed him while torturing him, and he didn't know if those videos had gotten out. That was why he'd been afraid to go out lately; walking on the street, it felt like everyone was staring at him, as if he were naked. Whenever someone glanced at him a little longer, he felt they knew about what he'd done, and he panicked completely. He struggled fiercely to get away, but then he heard the person say, "You look a lot like someone named Daphne. What's your relationship with Daphne?"
"My sister," Dickson instinctively stopped struggling and couldn't help asking, "You know my sister?"
The person looked suddenly enlightened. "Daphne is your sister? No wonder you look so much like her. I indeed know your sister; it's a pity what happened to her, dying so..." The person cut off, realizing something, and quickly shut their mouth.
Dickson had always felt there was something suspicious about his sister's death. Sierra said she would tell him when he got into college, but he was getting impatient now. He quickly grabbed the person and demanded, "Do you know how my sister died?"
The person hurriedly shook their head. "No, no, I don't know."
"Please, tell me, how did my sister die?" Dickson pressed on.
Perhaps seeing his sincere demeanor, the person hesitated, then finally said, "Come with me!"
Sierra had spent the whole day at the hospital with Grandma, and she repeated to her what she'd told Dickson. "No matter who comes looking for you, don't pay attention, and call me immediately, okay, Grandma?"
Lily, worried, gripped Sierra's hand. "What exactly is going on? Who have you offended?"
"That man's a lunatic; I'm not sure what he'll do. He usually won't do anything directly to me; he'll go after the people around me instead." Her biggest worries were Grandma and Dickson. Jonathan's status and position meant that if something happened to him, it wouldn't go unnoticed. Lily and Dickson were just ordinary people, and Shane would be more likely to target them.
"Alright, I know. Don't come over these next few days; I have everything I need here," Lily said hurriedly, fearing for Sierra's safety.
"Okay!" Sierra nodded, letting her know she understood.

Chapter 118: Bumps in the Night
Bradley, who hadn't been around her for several days. She walked past him without a glance, but Bradley quickly caught up and blocked her. "Sierra, can we talk?"
Sierra looked at him coldly. She had made things clear before, and Bradley seemed to realize this, quickly pressing on. "Denny's in bad shape; she needs surgery, but she's refusing to have it."
Sierra gave him a strange look, waiting for him to continue. Bradley seemed to feel it was inappropriate to say this; he couldn't meet Sierra's eyes and shifted his gaze away, murmuring, "She said if you forgive her, she'll agree to the surgery."
For a moment, Sierra thought she was hearing things. How could someone say something so absurd? But coming from the Xander family, it somehow didn't seem so outrageous. She had already seen Denise's shamelessness and manipulations, and she was well aware of the Xander family's favoritism, so she just sneered sarcastically and then said coldly, "Get lost!"
Every encounter with the Xander family worsened her mood. It seemed she had been too lenient before; merely causing a public relations crisis for Xander Pharmaceuticals really wasn't enough. Perhaps only by truly crushing the Xander family would they stop bothering her.
"It's all because you forced me," Sierra said slowly.
Bradley didn't understand the significance of Sierra's words, and he didn't know what he had missed. He barely had time to think, only saying, "I know Denny wronged you! But her condition is really dangerous now. If she doesn't have surgery soon, she'll die."
