Chapter 176: Hats Off to Hideouts

Would Kazon believe me? Sierra pondered. Before she could devise a plan, Kason had already stopped walking.

“We need to go through security; I’ll go first!” he said, tossing both their phones aside, then walking through without incident. Sierra exclaimed, “Come on, it’s your turn!” He then returned to help her. Sierra didn’t even know how she managed to walk through; she just let Kason support her, her heart nearly leaping out of her chest. As she stepped forward, she had already formulated a plan. Yet, the expected alarm didn't sound. She waited a moment, heard a door opening, and was then led inside.

Soon after, Kason’s voice rang out, “Alright, you can take off your hat now.” As he spoke, Kason reached to remove Sierra’s hat, but Sierra was quicker and took it off herself.

The room was brightly lit. Sierra glanced around; it was stark white but had a hint of disinfectant, similar to a laboratory. She observed her surroundings impassively, wondering why her earrings hadn't been detected. She resisted touching them and looked around, asking, “What is this place?”

Kason smiled and replied, “My secret base! You’re the first outsider to come here. Come on, I’ll show you around!” As he spoke, he reached for her hand, but she dodged it, casually slipping her hands into her coat pockets and lifting her chin. “Lead the way.”

Kason’s expression showed a hint of regret, but he still led her forward.

Just as Sierra had guessed, it was indeed a laboratory; more precisely, an illegal one. Inside, she saw many small animals, all looking miserable, clearly having suffered greatly. Sierra quickly understood. “You’re researching banned substances.” Her guess was correct; she had suspected Kason’s involvement in illegal drug research.

Since Kason had brought her here, he obviously didn’t intend to keep it a secret. He said, “Let’s go to my room to talk!” Now that she was here, Sierra wouldn’t refuse. However, once inside the room, she regretted it. She was all too familiar with this room. She had never been there, but she had seen it countless times in videos.

Kason had no intention of hiding anything. Various instruments of torture and other equipment were displayed openly, as if afraid others wouldn’t know his preferences. There was also a large, ostentatious bed covered with shackles and various devices. Sierra’s gaze fell on the bed where Daphne had died; she still remembered her reaching out toward it.

Seeing her staring intently at the bed, Kason leaned in and said, “Interested? If you like, I can get a different bed, any kind you want to play with. Let’s not use this one; it’s too dirty for you.”

Sierra suppressed her anger and looked at Kason. “No need to change it. I’m not interested. Of course, if you’re willing to let those be used on you, I might be interested.”

Kason was taken aback at first, then burst into laughter. “Guess not!” He enjoyed tormenting others, but he didn’t like being tormented himself. Sierra didn’t sit down; every corner of the place was filled with blood, filth, and unspeakable things.
