Chapter 266: You’re Not Alone Anymore

Right now, Jonathan’s mind was filled with blood and violence. The image of his mother’s mangled body kept looping in his head. Every year on this day, he had to get it all out—keep punching, keep fighting, until every ounce of strength was drained from him. It was always just him. Even if no one said it, he knew how terrifying he looked when he was like this. Even his team of hardened mercenaries stayed away. He’d tear himself apart, lick his own wounds, then put on the human mask and go back to being that calm, untouchable man.

But this time… someone was telling him he wasn’t alone. He found it ridiculous. He snapped his eyes open and glared at Sierra, his voice low and dangerous.

“You’re going to stay with me? Do you even know what I’m about to do?”

Sierra shook her head. “I don’t. But no matter what it is, I’m staying. Even if the ending is something neither of us can handle.”

A few feet away, Mateo and the others exchanged looks. She’s lost it too, they thought.

Jonathan let out a cold laugh. “Anything? What if I’m about to kill someone? You coming then?”

Sierra stood up, brushed off her pants, and nodded. “Let’s go.”

“What the hell…” Mateo muttered. “She’s just as nuts as he is.”

She was supposed to calm him down—not egg him on. But now it looked like the two of them were about to blow the roof off the whole damn city.

Jonathan froze, eyes locked on hers, his expression tangled. “You even know what you’re saying?”

Sierra looked him right in the eye. “You were there for me when I needed help the most. Now that you need someone—I’m not backing down. I’m with you, Jonathan. Even if you take it too far, I’m still with you.”

He saw it. That look in her eyes. The kind of determination that couldn’t be shaken. And just like that, the pressure in his chest cracked open. All the blood and chaos in his mind faded, replaced by quiet moments he’d shared with her. Peaceful. Real.

After a long silence, he said hoarsely, “You’re an idiot. All those things I did for you—I barely had to lift a finger.”

And here she was, ready to give everything. Just plain stupid. Couldn’t even do the math.

“It might’ve been easy for you, but for me—it saved my life,” Sierra said softly. “You hurt, I hurt too.”

He’d never said a word about how much pain he was in. He never had to. She felt it. And, for some reason, that made it worse—watching him suffer and not being able to take it away.

Her words undid him. Jonathan jumped off the ring, eyes burning as he looked down at her. “I’m giving you one last chance to walk away!”

He’d already shown her everything. If she stayed now, there was no turning back. Sierra’s answer was to stand on her toes, grab his collar, and pull him into a kiss.

Jonathan froze. Then he grabbed her tight, deepening the kiss until it turned messy and raw. The taste of blood filled their mouths—he didn’t even know whose it was.

From a distance, the guys all silently turned and left the room.

Outside the gym, Maddox glanced at his watch. “That was the shortest episode yet.”

“Not even a full hour,” Draven said, adjusting his glasses.

“Guess she’s more important than we thought,” Stone muttered.

“I’m not worried about him anymore,” Maddox said. “I’m more worried about the Wynn family.”

“What do you think they’ll do?” Stone asked.

Mateo waved it off. “Who cares? It’s out of our hands now.” But he knew one thing for sure—if Mr. Wynn decided to pass the family to Jose, the Wynn family was finished. Jonathan wouldn’t take it, and there was no way he’d let Jose have it either.

Maddox rubbed his temples. “This is a headache.”

While the four of them paced outside, the air inside the gym was thick enough to choke on. If it weren’t for the security cameras, Jonathan wouldn’t have stopped at just a kiss.

It took him a while, but he finally stepped back, calming down. “Did I scare you?” he asked quietly.

Sierra shook her head. She had expected this. And no, she wasn’t scared.

Jonathan squeezed her hand gently. “You wanna know what really happened that day?”
