Chapter 76: Exam Day Drama

Sierra abruptly cut him off and asked, "The vice principal paused briefly, nodding. “Yes! As long as you pass the professional exam, you can continue in the biochemistry program.”

“Alright, I’ll take the test!”

“When?” Sierra inquired.

The vice principal shifted his gaze and said, “Don’t say we didn’t give you time to prepare; three days from now. Come for the test then.”

“We’ll also post about this incident on the school’s official website to ensure fairness. If you pass, your classmates won’t have anything to say.”

“Of course, if you don’t pass, then I’m sorry, but you’ll either have to drop out or go back to the literature department.”

“Agreed, let’s shake on it. I hope the leadership won’t change their minds by then.”

As Sierra spoke, she casually waved the voice recorder in her hand; seeing the change in their faces, she smiled and said, “Don’t mind me; I’m just a poor student who needs to be cautious. What if I get screwed over?”

Seeing their expressions turn even sourer, she added, “Of course, I’m not saying you guys would do that!”

With that, Sierra turned and left, leaving three very aggravated school officials behind.

“Mr. Kace, no problems, right?” Ricky couldn’t help but ask.

“What problem could there be? Remember, she’s only been out of jail for a month and was originally in the literature department. How could she possibly know anything about biochemistry?”

“Besides, it’s normal for this program to be tough; it’s one of the most competitive at Northwind University.”

The three exchanged glances, understanding each other’s thoughts. Indeed, the biochemistry program was a crown jewel of Northwind University, known worldwide; not just any riff-raff could get in.

Somehow, news of today’s events had leaked, and soon, the entire school knew that Sierra would be taking the professional test in three days. The campus forum was abuzz with mockery.

“Some people just don’t know their place. Why doesn’t she just drop out instead of embarrassing herself?”

“If it weren’t for the Xander family, how could she even be in the biochemistry program? And she actually thinks she’s a genius.”

“Northwind is being too lenient. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t bother with this formality and just kick her out. We don’t need such a toxic presence.”

“I heard the school asked her to withdraw voluntarily, but she refused. She wouldn’t switch back to her old major either, insisting on staying in this one, so the school had no choice but to let her fail.”

“How dare she? Who gave her the courage?”

“Some people just naturally lack self-awareness; she thinks because of her family background, everyone should make way for her, pfft, we’re not buying it.”

“Strongly request the exam be live-streamed in three days, so there’s no chance of cheating.”

“I agree!”

2:22 PM

The issue escalated, and under pressure or otherwise, the school announced that evening on the campus website that the exam would be broadcast live to ensure transparency and allow the entire student body and faculty to monitor it.

Evan, who had been busy with his research and somewhat out of the loop, was shocked when he learned about the situation. He immediately sought out the vice principal, who looked troubled. “Mr. Evan, I know she’s your sister, but you understand the pressure the school is under.”

“We wanted to let her switch majors, but she wouldn’t budge. Now, look where we are. If we cancel now, who knows what kind of scene that would cause.”

Evan frowned deeply; he understood all too well and quickly called Bradley and Sean to brainstorm solutions.

Jonathan, who usually kept out of school affairs, only became aware because Sierra hadn’t been around. He knocked on Sierra’s door after work. Seeing Jonathan, Sierra nodded nonchalantly, “Come in, Mr. Yeager, I was just tidying up.”

As Jonathan followed her inside, he watched her for a moment before speaking, “You don’t seem nervous at all.”

Sierra turned to him, aware he knew about her bet with the school, “Do you think I should be?”

“There’s really no need!” Jonathan said. Nobody knew she was a genius; not her classmates, not the school, not even the people from the Xander family.
