Chapter 104

If Alaric thought he could manipulate her, he was in for a surprise. Screenshots of their conversation quickly appeared in the comments section.

"Hey, drama queen with the crocodile tears, open your eyes! Alaric was pestering Ms. Lemon; she never agreed to join you."

"Now jealous of Ms. Lemon's success, you want to guilt-trip her? How shameless!"

"Stop playing the innocent victim! We see right through you!"

Evelina's live stream chat exploded with reactions. Seeing the viewer count surge, Evelina couldn't hide her delight. This drama would attract many followers!

Alaric, however, felt his pride wounded. He hadn't anticipated her leaking their conversation. He was now convinced SweetLemon wasn't Lemira. If it were Lemira, she wouldn't have risked tarnishing the Langston family's reputation.

He decided to end his offer of assistance. Alaric logged into the game and went straight to the tournament. His ranking was 90th. He messaged players around his rank, asking them to avoid the game, ensuring SweetLemon's only opponent would be him. If she wanted to advance, she'd have to beat him.

He'd originally planned to sign her and hype today's match, but that was no longer necessary.

His secretary ventured, "Boss, she's a newbie. Are you sure you want to do this personally?"

"Yes, I'm going to teach her a lesson myself!"

Alaric was confident. As a seasoned pro, how could he lose to a newcomer? Despite the streamer showing talent, she was no match for a professional.

The match began shortly after.

When Lemira saw her opponent, her gaze turned icy. "What a coincidence," she remarked coolly. She knew Alaric's ranking, but with multiple players at 90th, the matchup seemed random. Alaric had, however, deliberately ensured this match. Many online viewers noticed.

"Ms. Lemon, don't be scared. You've got this!"

"What's a pro doing here? Isn't this against the rules?"

"SkyBlaze's captain is clearly seeking revenge!"

Lemira remained calm. "Don't worry, everyone. The game's not over yet. The outcome is still uncertain."

A troll commented: "Don't be too cocky, or you'll eat your words."

Lemira ignored the troll. She eyed her character on screenโ€”Alaric's gear, set up as she had arranged. Today, however, she intended to dismantle it piece by piece. No one knew Alaric's gameplay better than she did! "Let's start," she said, her slender fingers dancing swiftly across the keyboard, predicting Alaric's moves.

His understanding of her tactics, however, was far inferior. Within five minutes, Alaric was on the verge of defeat, hiding behind a building. Lemira didn't pursue; she held her position.

Alaric was frustrated. "How is this possible? How does she know every move and strategy?"

"Boss, maybe she studied you beforehand."

Alaric shook his head. "No, that last move I saved for the finals. I've never used it before!"

Then it hit him. "Wait, there's one person who would know."

Lemira! She had devised those secret moves.

Alaric's breath hitched. Was she really Lemira?
