Chapter 122  Lemira spoke up with a nonchalant tone, “The jewelry Evelina’s wearing were gifts from me, weren’t they? So what if they’re broken? Alaric, why be such a penny–pincher?”  “Lemira, since you’re so stubborn, let’s check the security footage! I want to see how you’ll squirm your way out of it!”  Evelina felt a wave of anxiety: “Alaric, let it go, there’s no need to make a scene.”  Lucian frowned and said, “Alaric, Eve said she fell on her own. You better take her to the hospital.”  “No! I must get to the bottom of this today!”  Alaric was fuming inside, especially seeing Lemira’s carefree demeanor; he was determined to make her admit her fault.  Lucian glanced at Lemira unconsciously, “Lemmy, what exactly happened?”  Could it really have been Lemira’s doing?  Lemira’s eyes were cold, “Whatever, go ahead and check the cameras.”  Soon, the hotel staff brought the surveillance footage on a USB drive.  Alaric grabbed it instantly, “Here’s the truth.”  He was convinced of Lemira’s involvement before even watching the footage.  In the video, Evelina stepped on Lemira’s dress, but Lemira suddenly dodged to the side.  Evelina, stepping on Lemira’s dress, lost her balance and fell!  After watching, Lemira remained unfazed, “So what?”  Lucian, after viewing the footage, looked at Alaric with cold eyes, “Did you see clearly? It has nothing to do with Lemmy! Evelina fell on  her own!”  Alaric also saw the process in the video, it indeed seemed like an accident.  Alaric felt a burning shame, stubbornly saying, “Lemira must have heard Eve’s voice; she shouldn’t have dodged. That way Eve wouldn’t have fallen!”  The room was shocked at his bizarre statement. How can someone be so ludicrous?  Lucian shouted, “Alaric, have you lost your mind?”  Lemira splashed her drink in Alaric’s face.  Alaric was instantly enraged, “Lemira, what the hell?”  In the next moment, Lemira threw the cup as well.  This time, Alaric dodged.  The cup hit Evelina instead.  Lemira smirked, “Alaric, why dodge? Didn’t you know that dodging would get Evelina hit? How can you be so selfish?”  Alaric was hopping mad, “Lemira, you did that on purpose!”  Lemira raised an eyebrow, her voice dripping with scorn, “An eye for an eye.”  Jessica blurted out, “That’s rich coming from you, saying Lemmy shouldn’t dodge. But when it’s your turn, you dodge pretty fast.”  Coach Michel added, “It’s clear Evelina deliberately stepped on Lemira’s dress, trying to make her look bad, but ended up hurting herself instead. It’s karma!”  Jessica nodded, “The one who should be apologizing is Evelina!”  Lucian turned to Evelina, “Why would you step on Lemon’s dress out of the blue?”  This situation was indeed suspicious.  Evelina, cornered, bit her lip trying to look pitiful, “I was just rushing to catch up to Lemmy, it’s an accident that I stepped on her dress, I didn’t mean it.”  Alaric spoke up, “I knew Eve didn’t do it on purpose, yet Lemira intentionally allowed Eve to get hurt.”  Lemira’s eyes were filled with mockery, “I’m used to being blamed like this, always the same old story.”  Hearing this, Lucian felt even guiltier.  Lucian slapped Alaric across the face, his gaze icy, “Alaric, I’m ordering you to apologize to Lemmy right now!”  7/2  Chapter 122  Alaric, struck by the slap, was confused, “Lucian, it was clearly Lemira’s fault!”  Why was he the one getting hit?
