Chapter 151  Lemira stood before him, just inches away. Orion avoided her gaze, “Not exactly.”  “So, it’s not official?”  His response was vague, “Something like that.”  Lemira’s heart sank as she heard his admission. It’s true then. She had even thought, perhaps Orion was making it up to avoid being set up by Lucian with some girl.  Gathering her strength, she asked, “Is it the girl you were with at the restaurant?”  She had seen them once, Orion and a girl dining out together. She hadn’t gotten a good look at the girl, just that she was tall and likely very attractive.  Oton’s Adam’s apple bobbed, “Didn’t peg you for the gossip type.”  “Just curious. You said you were single before, and suddenly there’s news. Can’t I ask?”  Lemira’s words didn’t completely match her feelings.  At that moment, Lucian wheeled out after the examination, looking quite pale.  Seeing Lucian like this, she said with an unfamiliar coldness, “The doctor said you need to start treatment, take your medication on time, and lay off the booze.”  “Look at my memory, always forgetting. When you were around, you’d remind me to take my meds. Now that you’re not home, I often forget.”  Lucian’s words were laden with hidden meanings, and he could see that there was still a soft spot for him in Lemira’s heart. If his illness could bring her back, he’d rather stay sick forever.  A hint of sarcasm was played on Lemira’s lips, “You could ask Evelina to remind you. She seems quite fond of doing that kind of thing  Lucian was choked on it, “I think those nutritious dish you used to make were really effective, but only you know how to make them. I know you’ve done a lot for me in the past, and it’s my fault.”  “But that’s not medicine. It won’t help.”  Lemira knew what Lucian was implying but refused to engage further. She looked at Lucian, “Just focus on your treatment. I’m leaving.”  “Lemmy, will you come to see me again?” Lucian’s voice was full of earnest hope.  Lemira felt a twinge of softness but remembered seeing Evelina here last time.  She calmly refused, “We’ll see.”  With that, Lemira left, not lingering in the hospital. Lucian watched her go, then saying to Hogan, “Do you think Lemmy is starting to forgive me?”  Hogan thought that Ms. Langston probably didn’t feel that way. Winning back his sister seemed a long and difficult road for the boss.  Lemira went back at her apartment, and Thaddeus rushed ahead, “I gotta hit the bathroom, running ahead. Take your time.”  Lemira and Orion walked behind. She glanced over, “Can’t believe that’s Thaddeus‘ company? Are you involved too?”  “Yeah, got in through the connections.”  As they stepped into the elevator together, Lemira, feeling agitated, noticed their reflections on the door.  She could smell the alcohol on him, “You didn’t answer my earlier question.”  Orion adjusted his collar, his gaze intense, “What question?”  “About the girl you’re seeing. The one from the restaurant?”  Suddenly, he stepped closer, his presence overwhelming, “Why do you need to know everything?”  Caught off guard by his intensity, Lemira stumbled backward until her back hit the elevator wall. She bit her lip, “Like I said, I was just asking. Can’t I do that?”  “Adult things aren’t for kids to worry about.”  “But I am an adult. I can date in college,” Lemira stood her ground, her eyes reflecting his figure.  Orion frowned deeply, “You’re still young.”  “I’m of age. How am I young?”  Chapter 151  Irritated for reasons he couldn’t explain, he flicked Lemira’s forehead, “There’s more to college than dating?  Lemira covered her forehead. He’s dating. Why should he restrict her?  Then, the elevator doors opened. Lemira turned and ran out.
