Chapter 178ย  โ€œLemmy, nowโ€™s not the time to throw a fit. If the Dravens come knocking, it wonโ€™t just be you in hot water. The Langstons will be dragged into this mess too.โ€ย  Lemira replied with a scoff, โ€œDonโ€™t worry, I wonโ€™t drag you into anything.โ€ย  โ€œItโ€™s not up to you to decide whether or not we get involved. Youโ€™re not seeing the big picture here. Alaric has already smoothed things over with Dorian. All you need to do is apologize to Mr. Draven, clear the air, and he wonโ€™t hold you accountable once you explain everything.โ€ย  Lemira frowned, โ€œI refuse. Iโ€™ve got more important things to do right now.โ€ย  โ€œLemira, when will you stop this nonsense? And what could possibly be more important than sorting this out?โ€ย  Jessica raised her voice, โ€œObviously, attending the celebration of our cityโ€™s top student is way more important.โ€ย  cian frowned, โ€œI heard the top scorer is in your school, but thatโ€™s their achievement, not yours, Lemira. You need to focus on sorting your own issues instead of just going along for the ride.โ€ย  Jessicaโ€™s voice grew louder, โ€œBecause if Lemira doesnโ€™t show up at the celebration, it canโ€™t start.โ€ย  Lucianโ€™s tone turned sour, โ€œLemira isnโ€™t the guest of honor, why wait for her to kick things off?โ€ย  โ€œBecause our beloved Lemira is the cityโ€™s top student! How could the celebration go on without her?โ€ย  Jessica finally let out the news sheโ€™d been dying to share, feeling the attitude of Lemiraโ€™s brother was dissatisfied. He didnโ€™t care about her score and just bombarded her with reprimand, asking her to apologize.ย  โ€œWhat did you say? Lemira is the top scorer?โ€ย  โ€œThatโ€™s right. Seems like the only ones out of the loop were the Langstons. And youโ€™re supposed to be her brother, not even caring aboutย  her.โ€ย  Lucianโ€™s head buzzed; he seemed a bit shocked in disbelief. He could never think of Lemira to reach the top spot.ย  As he looked up, a banner at the school caught Lucianโ€™s eye, proclaiming, โ€œCongratulations to Lemira for securing the top rank in the city.โ€ The joyful message stung him at that moment.ย  Unable to grasp the reality, he ventured, โ€œBut I heard your grades suffered because of that faulty stationery.โ€ย  Lemiraโ€™s reply was thick with sarcasm, โ€œAnd your point is?โ€ย  Lucian awkwardly swallowed, โ€œLemmy, Iโ€™m just surprised and happy for you. This is shocking news.โ€ย  No one expected a Langston to be the cityโ€™s top student!ย  Jessica clarified, โ€œThe student who botched the exam wasnโ€™t Lemira, but someone else. Evelina just pinned it on Lemira, probably out of jealousy for fearing Lemira scoring higher than her. Thatโ€™s why she made the slanderous comments in advance.โ€ย  Lucian reflexively defended, โ€œEveโ€™s not like that. It mustโ€™ve been the faulty stationery scandal. She didnโ€™t mean anything by it.โ€ย  Even he had harbored the same doubts. But the surprise Lemira had in store was beyond anyoneโ€™s imagination.ย  Soon, the principal, teachers, and reporters gathered around.ย  The principal glanced at Lucian, saying, โ€œLucian, youโ€™re just in time. Join us for the celebration.โ€ย  A reporter thrust a microphone at Lucian, โ€œLemiraโ€™s academic leap in the last few months is remarkable. As her family, your support mustโ€™ve been crucial. Mind if I ask if you have any advice to share with us?โ€ย  ย
