Chapter 259ย  Lemira changed her clothes before heading down to the dorm lobby, where the supervisor was waiting for her.ย  The supervisor looked at Lemira, โ€œDo you know why Iโ€™m here?โ€ย  โ€œFor the rumor mill on the campus forum, right?โ€ย  โ€œExactly. The program you embedded locked many studentsโ€˜ phones. They only have that one phone, and some parents couldnโ€™t reach them. They were about to call the police.โ€ย  Lemira remained unfazed, โ€œUnlocking the phones is easy. They just donโ€™t want to apologize for the mess theyโ€™ve caused.โ€ย  It wasnโ€™t her fault, after all!ย  โ€œI get you wanted to address the forum issue, but your methods were a bit extreme. Itโ€™s caused a significant disruption to the school. So, youโ€™ll need to unlock those phones first.โ€ย  โ€œNo way!โ€ย  Lemiraโ€™s gaze was indifferent, โ€œTheir apology would resolve this. Thereโ€™s no need for me to step in. Besides, I can delete the app but not unlock their phones. Thatโ€™s how the program is set up!โ€ย  โ€œLemira, are you really refusing to cooperate with the administration? Think about the consequences!โ€ย  The supervisor hadnโ€™t expected such a defiance from a freshman. Not only had Lemira clashed with the rich kids from the Business School, but sheโ€™d also taken such a drastic step to lock many of their phones!ย  Initially, the administration didnโ€™t take the situation seriously, planning to just crack the mini program.ย  But after spending an entire afternoon trying, even the Computer Science department couldnโ€™t crack Lemiraโ€™s code, let alone unlock the phones.ย  So, they had no choice but to confront Lemira, who unexpectedly wasnโ€™t budging.ย  Lemira was unperturbed, โ€œIโ€™ve thought it through. They spread false rumors. An apology isnโ€™t too much to ask, is it?โ€ย  The supervisor sighed, โ€œLemira, coming from an orphan background, even though you get admitted to this university as a top scorer, your financial situation shouldnโ€™t be super. Itโ€™s unavoidable that others might become skeptical!โ€ย  โ€œThatโ€™s a laugh. Just because someone posts a photo and starts rumors, why canโ€™t I retaliate? Because Iโ€™m an orphan, I must be poor and materialistic?โ€ย  Lemiraโ€™s patience was wearing thin, and there was no way sheโ€™d disable the program.ย  Either they apologized or tossed their phones! Spreading rumors came with a price!ย  The supervisor was visibly irked, โ€œLemira, youโ€™re really not going to unlock their phones?โ€ย  โ€œAbsolutely not!โ€ย  โ€œAlright, Iโ€™ve said my piece. The school will decide on your case tomorrow, I hope you wonโ€™t regret it.โ€ย  โ€œI wonโ€™t regret it. But if the schoolโ€™s decision smells fishy, Iโ€™ll get a lawyer. I wonโ€™t back down.โ€ย  Lemira stood her ground, knowing the school wanted her to cave, to make a big issue small, with her left holding the bag. Why should she?ย  Fuming, the supervisor left.ย  Lemira went back to the dorm, while Janice whispered, โ€œWhat did the supervisor say?โ€ย  โ€œHe wanted me to disable the program and unlock the phones, but I refused.โ€ย  Lemiraโ€™s tone was tinged with frigidity.ย  Clara, hearing Lemiraโ€™s response, kicked the table in frustration. She had hoped Lemira would be swayed by the supervisor, but Lemira was unyielding.ย  Staring at her phone, Clara realized sheโ€™d have to apologize to use it again. The thought was more painful than killing herself! Lemira, however, was calm. Having been dead once, she wasnโ€™t scared. Why should she apologize for being wronged?ย  Yet, Lemira couldnโ€™t shake off something odd about Susanna being taken away today, but she couldnโ€™t put her finger on it.ย  Given Susannaโ€™s family ties, it wouldnโ€™t be surprising if the Sinclairs smoothed things over.ย  Lemira checked her phone for news about Susannaโ€™s bullying scandal leading to a studentโ€™s suicide, finding most reports scrubbed clean. Clearly, someone was pulling strings behind the scenes.ย
